Personally I'd have a hard time justifying exclusives if I was outside of the US. I'd be sad to miss out on cool ones like this... but paying a 30%+ extra would just not happen.

I've never ordered direct from SSC before, it would have to be a very special ex to pay the extra - Yoda with an orange snake does qualify, but I've resigned myself to the fact I was too late getting on the WL... I'm just trying to convince myself I'll be just as happy with the regular!

Has anyone considered painting the non-exclusive snake orange with acrylic paints and then giving him a brown wash? $85 later, I wish I had!

I must say, however, that I find the use of the tape and twisty ties to be almost insulting. How much could it possibly cost to use a cover like all of the other figures have? If I ever want to put Yoda back into his box for storage or to sell, the twisties will make it a huge pain.

It actually is hard to imagine that adding tape and twisties could be cheaper than adding a cover. I do think the accessories would stay in place fairly well w/o the tape or ties, but you would definitely want to wrap up Yoda in tissue or bubble wrap to prevent paint loss.

I have Vader. And his being oversized has never bothered me because he stands alone.

One of the reasons I've stopped buying directly from SSC (even though I'm on the border and have a US addy). It might take longer but I pay nadda for shipping from my friendly Canadian on-line retailer... I just get to live vicariously through the pics until then...

It's a bendy snake though, not a solid piece. You'd have to lock the snake off in one position and that would be it. One bend and it'd be orange snake with brown spots.

Also not sure how well paint would adhere to that rubbery material its made of, it'd probably get all sticky...

Well, they painted the orange snake at the factory, so it's not as if it's impossible to paint a bendy snake. It would depend on what kind of paint you used though. Personally, I'm fine without the orange snake, or any snake for that matter, as I don't really see them as integral to the Yoda character.

Ive dont the same on pieces Im in no hurry to wait for, Yoda was the only fig in a long time I bought direct from SS. Him and my Joes are the only ones

Remember that Yoda is a hand puppet.... so pretend Frank Oz's arm is all up in there and that should help you out with scale.

As for the snakes... completely unnecessary for me. He isn't Miss Piggy that needs something to hang around his neck. Glad I was able to pick it up for $7 less.

Just finished chopping the stem and bending the wire of a "C" stand to make a stand short enough for the little bugger. Now he's earthquake proof!

Nice idea. Might have to do that sometime if I decide to take him of his log.
