Re: Sideshow 1:6 TESB Yoda & Dagobah Hut Environment!

I thought you'd like that. :lol

Yeah, it sucks, but it's only the second time I've ever had a problem, and the first time was for a piece of lint in the paint on a PF head.

Re: Sideshow 1:6 TESB Yoda & Dagobah Hut Environment!

You'd think Sideshow would save money doing shat right the first time vs dealing with returns/refunds.

Sideshow is paint illiterate.

Re: Sideshow 1:6 TESB Yoda & Dagobah Hut Environment!

Yup. Iris on the left eye is noticably bigger than the right, and they're pointing in two different directions. Also, there's a flaw in the eyelid shading on the right side. I figured I could fix that myself, but the rest is beyond my abilities.

That sucks, Devil. I hope you get a better replacement.

Re: Sideshow 1:6 TESB Yoda & Dagobah Hut Environment!

Thanks Snoopy. Me too.

Well, the Marx Brothers were out of work for a long time before they got their job in the Sideshow quality department. Give them five more years and they should know what they're doing.

Marx Brothers? I thought these guys were their Quality Assurance Inspectors...

Nope. Those guys work in the Hot Toys customer service/public relations department.

This guy is clearly in charge of eye paint inspection.

Re: Sideshow 1:6 TESB Yoda & Dagobah Hut Environment!

my yoda's eyes were off as well............not full on "wonky" but a tad off...........maybe "winky".............but i'm not going bother with an exchange. now if it had been as bad as some i've seen , then yes he would have been making a trek back to california.

Re: Sideshow 1:6 TESB Yoda & Dagobah Hut Environment!

Yeah, he looks like he's been drinking the swamp herb and smoking the swamp moonshine. I figure the trip will give him time to sober up.

Re: Sideshow 1:6 TESB Yoda & Dagobah Hut Environment!

There's really no excuse for this kind of thing at this stage in the game for SS. I hope your replacement is spot on, there's nothing more bummer than getting a figure you've been looking forward to with unnecessary flaws.

Re: Sideshow 1:6 TESB Yoda & Dagobah Hut Environment!

This was the first time I've seen paint rubs on the inside tray since the Friday the 13th part 3 Jason figure. They must have dropped Yoda into the tray while the paint was still wet

Meh got mine.. and have the extra special paint rub on the nose exclusive. No idea how it happened with all the twistie tie protection.. guess Ill be waiting on a replacement. I must be flagged in the sideshow customer service system for all the exchanges I have made.. I think they like me and want to continue dealing with me in that respect.

Re: Sideshow 1:6 TESB Yoda & Dagobah Hut Environment!

For those of you with wonky eyes on the figure I don't think you'll have to send the whole thing back. My CW Anakin had a black smear under his left eye and they just sent me a new properly painted head. Then they asked me to destroy the original head and send them visual confirmation to avoid being charged for the new one.

Re: Sideshow 1:6 TESB Yoda & Dagobah Hut Environment!

I've had mixed results on sending back whole figures versus just getting a replacement part. When Lando showed up he had a bad scratch on his face and the whole figure had to go back... then the replacement didn't have the wire in the cape so they just sent a new cape.

If its just a damaged accessory usually I'll just get a new part, but anything with the figure (scratched paint, broken limb) I usually have to send back the whole thing.

Re: Sideshow 1:6 TESB Yoda & Dagobah Hut Environment!

Really enjoying the photos and reviews guys, Yoda looks amazing. I can't wait to get mine, though it's going to be at least a month yet. :monkey1

I've just about given up on my ex converting, but I'm not too bothered now... reckon he'll be about £20 cheaper buying in the UK rather than direct from SSC, and as much as I'd like an orange snake, it's not really worth that. And besides, whilst it's a nice nod to the vintage figure, there were two versions of that..... the second was a darker green version (which is a lot closer to the SS Yoda), and he came with a brown snake!

Re: Sideshow 1:6 TESB Yoda & Dagobah Hut Environment!

I had a minor vintage scare after reading your post... I went to check out the variant of Yoda and learned that not only did the darker colored Yoda come with the brown snake, but his glimer stick was also darker.

So I got a bit of a panic wondering if I had the correct color stick with mine or not (since I added it later to my figure). Luckily all is well and all the colors my vintage Yoda match up :rock

Too true. That little orange snake is bloody expensive you when you think about it. But I had the original release of Yoda when I was small and the orange snake reminded me of it. Oh well, it's a lot of money for a wee figure, but it's a heck of a lot of fun!

Re: Sideshow 1:6 TESB Yoda & Dagobah Hut Environment!

Personally I'd have a hard time justifying exclusives if I was outside of the US. I'd be sad to miss out on cool ones like this... but paying a 30%+ extra would just not happen.

Re: Sideshow 1:6 TESB Yoda & Dagobah Hut Environment!

Got mine a few minutes ago, and my opinion hasn't really changed. It's the best Yoda figure yet, but of course he's not perfect. Yes, he's a bit too green, but I'm not going to lose a lot of sleep over it. One of the eyes on mine is a little bit off, but not enough to make me want to return it. As usual he looks better in hand at his actual size than blown up on a computer screen.

I must say, however, that I find the use of the tape and twisty ties to be almost insulting. How much could it possibly cost to use a cover like all of the other figures have? If I ever want to put Yoda back into his box for storage or to sell, the twisties will make it a huge pain.
