Re: Get ready to eat your hat...

Cool.
Let's pay more then necessary.
When the money get's tight, we can always cancel a few of the other items we have on order, and pick them up later.
Else where.
For less.

Not sure where you got the idea that Sideshow is a charity. I also have no idea where you got the idea that they could charge around (what?) $35 for these? :monkey3

One of the Sideshow folks (at ORC) was actually talking about the potential of Hobbits in the 12-inch line. He basically said, even though the figure is smaller doesn't mean it wouldn't be just as involved as the full size 12-inchers. He went into detail about how Sam (as an example) has all those pots and pans, rope, food items, sword he got from Boromir (possibly), clothing and such that could go into the figure. So a hobbit could be even more intricate then the humans we've seen so far (at least where accessories are concerned).

Exactly. Whatever Sideshow charges, I am confident that they will be worth it.

Re: Get ready to eat your hat...

Then my wallett would begin to wobble a bit in doubt. :lol

A bit? Mine would be fleeing in abject terror. I think there has to be a balance between assuming that Sideshow is a charity and assuming that they are infallible. They have set price points too high on some items in the past, but then they have also produced some REAL bargains (like the GTG LS Bust :D).

Re: Get ready to eat your hat...

Fantastic News!
In the picture they appear a little too tall but the ground they're walking on is uneven so the Hobbit looks correct in scale if you take that into consideration. They should be about 3' 6" tall.
:aragorn :frodo :gimli :legolas
Can't wait to see Gollum!

Re: Get ready to eat your hat...

If they really go all out with accessories I'd be more than willing to pay $75 for them.

That's the thing what are we getting for the $75. If there is enough with it then yeah I'll pay it. So it all depends.

Re: Get ready to eat your hat...

I wouldn't be surprised to see Frodo & Sam each released separately, the same as any other character, for $64.99. It's got to cost just as much to design a short character's costume and accessories as it does a tall one, also the new body R&D costs, right? An extra $5-10 either way doesn't matter to me so much as the quality being high. more Hot Toys-ish, less Toybiz-ish.

Ok Exclusive accessory guesses: Frodo : Lothlorien cloak and translucent blue "glowing" Sting. Sam : Lothlorien cloak and elven rope, maybe some lembas bread?

I wonder how they'll replicate Frodo's mithril vest, or if he'll even have it or the phial of Galadriel if it's a pre-Rivendell Frodo?

Re: Get ready to eat your hat...

Great news!!!

I would only get Sam & Frodo, but a 2 pack would be cool. Though I dont see that happening.

Re: Get ready to eat your hat...

Not me. That would be way too much for me to accept. Even $60 per figure will be pushing it for me. REALLY pushing it.

Yet, you're willing to pay $150 for a bust that only accessory is another staff. :confused:It's all about what the item comes with and what the item looks like that I justify if the item is worth it.

Re: Get ready to eat your hat...

I will be ready to order both of these. I just hope they dont go up tonight or anything. I am so ready for these two. It would be awesome to get all of the Hobbits at once but I guess Frodo and Sam are ok. I would much rather have the option to get all 4 exclusive editions of Frodo Sam Merry and Pippin in Fellowship garb all at once.

Re: Get ready to eat your hat...

Not LOTR related, but I hope we get a kid Jason and kid Michael Myers too!!

To each their own of course. I just don't see a smaller figure in the line to be that much less than the full size ones (or even less at all). They are just as intricate the only difference is scale. Smaller doesn't seem to always equal less money (it would be nice of course but with the amount of detail that has gone into the LOTR 12-inch line so far...at least where costuming and accessories are concerned...I just don't see them being too much or even cheaper).
