If a person subscribes to political anarchy, I suggest that they should migrate to one of the many African nations and see how they enjoy living alongside all those african war lords. At least they'll get to keep their guns.

Have you ever been to any of the African nations ruled by these Warlords? You're posting ignorance again.

2. Quick Billy Bob there's a Tsunami coming go grab your AK and 12 gauge with armour piercing rounds lets blow this _____ up!

Dev was referencing New Orleans. Did you miss all the heinous inhumanity that was committed there during and after the flood? Or did you ostrich your head in the sand like all the other idiots who pretend that criminals follow the same rules of law-abiding citizens, and therefore punishing regular citizens keeps criminals in line?

They're also the first ones to cry out for our help when ____ hits the fan.

This is what really chaps my ass more than anything. All this anti-U.S. stuff comes from many of the same people/nations who are indeed the first to hold their hands out or ask for aid, be it monetary or military, or both.

And I'm not insular. I've been all over the world and in many countries. In fact, I was born in Europe. I have family there, in Canada, and all over the Caribbean. I've traveled to Europe, Asia, Africa, the South Pacific, and more. I've been to other modernized Western countries and to downright 3rd World impoverished ones. The difference between the U.S. and most other countries goes way beyond the myopic "Yay! We're the best!" mindset. The simple fact of the matter is that we enjoy more personal freedoms and liberties here than anywhere else in the world (though that is slowly being diminished). And for many that's the bottom line and the most important thing... protecting these basic freedoms.

Because nothing screams "parachute" like camel toe pants with 400 zipper pockets! Will never understand why they were called parachute pants. :lol

:lol Actually I think it's because the first ones were actually made out of the same material as parachutes.

Most Western Countries don't hate America, most just find the gun ho attitude a little strange. Australia has been involved in every American war since WW2, Korea, Vietnam, Gulf War, Iraq War, and Afghanistan. I doubt any Americans would even know about this. We have lost many good men for wars that had absolutely nothing to do with us and would not have affected us in anyway if we had of sat on the sidelines. The same can probably be said for the UK, Canada etc

The USA and Australia have had the ANZUS treaty since just after WW2 that states an attack on America is the same as an attack on Australia itself and vice versa. This was actually invoked after the attacks of 911 and we have been in Afghanistan and Iraq since day one. Australian SAS soldiers were actually in Iraq a day before the War even began.

I can’t think of any war except Afghanistan since WW2 that was actually warranted so I don’t know about wiping other people’s noses. This is not an attack on any American’s personally more so on some of the foreign policy decisions made by your Government, the majority of which occurred while bush was running the show.

My attitude extends to the whole world.

And the discussion is not about what sacrifices other countries have made. If we are going to change the subject to that, it'll be a short discussion as all I will say is that I know other countries are sacrificing as well.

But those countries are not getting attacked for gun ownership. The U.S. is. And our gun laws and involvement in worldwide conflict are rediculously being cross-associated. And how ridiculous that cross-association is can be illustrated in your comment that even with your Country's more strict gun laws, Australia has been in every conflict that the U.S. has.

And we can also go on and on about the benefit of each conflict and we can pick at the disappointments of each. But at the end of the day...I have never, in 47 years, seen anyone bring up an argument to show that the overall effort did not bring benefit. So, to me, the idea that every confict since WWII has been a waste of time, is invalid.

What "chaps my ass" is these foreigners telling us that they don't understand what the big deal about our gun rights is, and that they couldn't care less that their government decides this for them. But they do care about:
If someone wanted to take away my rights for freedom of speech, freedom to vote, live in a democracy then that would be another story.
When the right to bear arms IS one of our rights. And honestly, in some of these countries with strict gun control...if the government decided that they are going to take away some of your other rights, what exactly can you do about it?

We have natural disasters all the time floods, fires, cyclones etc we have had towns wiped off the map, never heard of people ever needing guns or looting on a large scale. Over here people will band together to help each other out. I think this is more of a reflection on your society than a justification for gun ownership in that scenario.

LOL. it's called democracy you vote the Government out. This is the gun ho attitude I am talking about instead of thinking democracy first, the first thing that comes to mind is shooting stuff.

:horror :horror :horror

(Wait... I bet Freddie Mercury had those. :lecture)

The slightly homophobic comment aside it did bring something to mind-- are you free in the US to marry whomever you want?

I merely bring this up as the first woman in space, Sally Ride, recently passed away-- leaving behind her longtime partner. Was she free in the US to marry Tam O'Shaughnessy? Just something to ponder.

Your country has some the world's last known cannibal tribes. Is that a reflection of yours? :huh
