300 DVD Best Buy Exclusive

Just got done watching. What a great movie. I did purchase it on Blu-Ray. The Best Buy exclusive was calling me but the quality was just better with Blu-Ray.

Picked up the Special Edition 2-Disc and a Blu-Ray copy. This is my first Blu-Ray movie so I'm eager to see how it looks...but I'll continue to get regular DVDs as well until one of the High-Def DVD types win and once their stuff gets cheaper. I'm going to be selective about my Blu-Ray movies...next one will probably be Spider-Man 3 and then I may get the Pirates Trilogy.

I saw the Best Buy Exclusive and it looked cool, but just couldn't bring myself to say that the helmet and 4 cards was worth the extra $10. Also the fact that I wanted a Blu-Ray copy made me pass on it.

Now if it was the NECA Leonidas figure that came with it...Oh yeah, I would've got it then.

Yeah their limited to like 12 or 15 per store, mine had them in the big 300 display deal right up front, and then one or two over on the new release shelf. But it was only me and one other guy going in at 10 after they opened so it was no mad rush and i was able to look at a couple and pick one with the best paint.

Thats funny I walked into a Best Buy around 6pm today walked and they had tons of the exclusive, I picked the HD-DVD version though.

I got the HD-DVD version at Best Buy. I have the SDCC exclusive but didn't get the regular exclusive. Interesting that the bluray was $3 cheaper but it wasn't dual format so that makes sense.

All I have to say is HD rules!

Plus I almost bought a PS3 for $549.

Bought HD-DVD because it has more features. But I still also picked up the regular exclusive. Found someone to buy my reg DVDs in there, and with a Best Buy reward zone coupon, I end up paying $5 for the helm and cards.

I just got done watching my HD version. It was crystal clear. One of my all time favorite movies!

It is supposed to look grainy, as that was the intent of the director. Watch the blue screen picture in picture (HD-DVD EXCLUSIVE! and completely worth it if you have any interest in filmmaking and knowing what the director is going for) and the PIP is perfectly sharp and clear with normal coloring. All the grain, oversaturation and shadowing of the film was added afterwards intentionally to more closely resemble the graphic novel look.
