Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

I really though last night's episode was full of good moments and kept me guessing. One of the better episodes this season.

Yep, one of the better episodes and then you lose momentum with another month break though...WTF?

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

Didn't they tell Tony that Howard Stark was a SHIELD founder?

Anyways, Stan lee is on tonights episode, does anyone know when Paxton's run starts, because its not on IMDB yet. :(

Paxton is in the next episode which airs March 4th.

I really hate Stan Lee cameos, they take me out of the show and are unnecessary. The one on Shield was the worst of them.

Well I hope Deathlok gets some more tech because the one single robo leg isn't enough for to make the character.

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

And its possible after the events in the Avengers SHIELD had to come out of the shadows. People on this show certainly have heard of SHIELD by now at least. But yeah, I agree with Nam. I think what they do exactly (just like most government agencies) is relatively unknown to the public. You get what their purpose is, but not exactly what they do to go about doing it.

The one thing that still bugs me about Iron Man 3 is the total lack of SHIELD. I know they got a lot of backlash from so much SHIELD/Avengers build in up Iron Man 2, but SHIELD was a constant presence in both IM 1 and 2 and the complete lack of it in IM3 was jarring. Especially when a terrorist is making threats directly at the president. I would have thought SHIELD would maybe have an interest in that. So I hope they explain a bit of that in Captain America 2 because I think Cap's lack of presence or mention as well was odd - especially with them really pushing Iron Patriot. Its like they were trying to appeal to that Captain America patriotic angle, but yet try not to mention him at the same time.

I guess its just the inconsistency of SHIELD's portrayal in all of these different movies and TV shows is the problem. They are secret, but the they aren't. They meddle with everything and then nothing. I just wish they'd dump the kindergarten agents and deal more with the higher ups. I'm hoping Maria Hill is at least a regular next year now that How I Met Your Mother will be over. That could help a bit. As much as I'd like Fury to be a regular, I don't see SLJ wanting to be tied down so much to the show. A few appearances a season would be great though.

I think it's more that Shane Black wanted to do his own thing and not be constrained by " the limits of the story structure" or something to that effect.

I'm wondering if they have to stagger the rest of this season for a tie-in with Winter Soldier. :lol

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

Easily the best episode of the series so far. Solid storytelling (loved the flashbacks from different character's perspectives) and some doses of humor in as well (i was lolling at Ward and Coulson trying to work the computer table.) Now that we have Deathlok, Bill Paxton showing up next month and Sif on the way, I am encouraged that the rest of this season will steadily improve.

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

I thought the last episode was really great. I am also amazed at how well the team is gelling, now. I think Deathlok is great, and I'd love it if he eventually joins the team full-time as a conflicted soul getting over what he's been forced to do. I'll admit, I even felt kind of bad for Skye in this episode. I wouldn't have thought that. If they can have Deathlok join full time as the muscle/firepower, then Ward becomes a wee bit extraneous. But he's grown on me quite a bit too.

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

Ward needs to take a grenade to the knee for the team. :lol

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

just saw last nights episode. even though Skye isnt my favorite character i was still shocked what they did in this episode. and i agree the whole team chemistry is getting better and better each episode.

Then they either needed someone else or reign him in more. The connections are what literally built the Marvel film universe. They needed SHIELD to appear in IM3 way more than they needed a Banner cameo in the post credits.

I get that the SHIELD/Avengers build up really hurt IM2 for some people, but the absolutely lack of it in IM3 hurt IM3 for me.

You have to remember that they are doing a connected timeline from movie to movie; IronMan 2, Inc Hulk, and Thor all happened simultaneously. Stark and Rhodey defeated Whiplash, within 48 hours Thor was fighting the Destroyer and a couple days after that Hulk and the Abomination were duking it out. Beofre they stated that I just thoiught crap was happening in a meandering manner as the movies came out.
Following that pattern if IM3 happened during the same week of the events we see in Cap's trailer, with what seems to be the proverbial **** hitting the fan internally, expecting SHIELDs presence is just... :cuckoo:

I felt the same way about IM3.

Cap 2 will have a heavy connection presence.

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

I'm going to say it right now.

This TV show has better choreographed and filmed fights than anything from BB/TDK/TDKR.

Especially TDKR.

The fights from Wade/May are short and brutal, especially Wade vs that Woman on the train!

That was better than Bane vs Batman. :lol

Btw, this episode kicked ***, shame for the fans that abandoned the show.
