Colonial marines would be the complete opposite of this game though as cool as it may be. I'd rather see a Predator version along the lines of Alien isolation, or even an original property.

If they do an Colonial Marines sequel it should not be all guns blazing the whole game. They should mix things up and make the ammo on some or most sections of the game sparse so to create a shooter with the stealth mechanics of this game. I have a dream vision for that game......

AVP Jaguar style would be awesome aas well. Still get that tense feeling thinking about that game.

So tempted to pick this game up tomorrow. My instincts though are to hold off until The Evil Within hits shelves and see which I prefer to have scare me more.

Care to explain why not, in context to my statement?

Well its just my opinion, I don't feel that the PS4's controller gimmick thingy can improve my experience when playing. That being said, I havent tried it... so on one hand its not fair to judge and on the other hand 1080p/60fps.... :rotfl

Ahhhhhhhh, no need to explain, it seems the problem is you are a PC ****** and your race felt threatened.
LOL.

no need to be mean friend :wink1:

So guys, knowing what you all know now: hard or medium to start?
Definitely medium. Good thing is you can change the difficulty at any time, so if you found medium to be a breeze you could up it to hard. Honestly though, lowering it to easy is the more likely scenario :)

PS4 is by far the best experience as the motion tracker noise comes through the controller.
Add surround sound speakers (not headset) and your in for one hell of an experience.

Well, I'm currently using my PS3's controller to play Isolation on the PC, through a nifty little program called Motioninjoy. You can also connect a PS4 controller for a lot of games, too. But, I'm not sure of its compatibility with Isolation. Can anyone here confirm if a PS4 controller will work for Isolation? Can you also hear the motion tracker noise from it?

:lecture But only graphics matter!!!!

Better graphics will help to improve your overall experience in games, especially with features like volumetric lighting, and added textures from PhysX enabled GPUs. In addition, the PCs can easily handle 60 FPS gaming, which results in smoother gameplay with less stuttering, compared to the current-gen consoles which are surprisingly locked at 30 FPS for most games.

Granted, I have been having some strange stuttering problems with Isolation that I'm trying to resolve. The one thing that console aficionados can argue for, is that games work right out of the box, while it can be a pain in the *** trying to configure them for a PC - where you're more than likely to run into problems.

ah Yes I have heard that, I would like to know others thoughts on using a PS4 controller. I'm partial to the 360 controller myself and I have used it for a few years now and its got a lot of custom work on it, so I'm a little hesitant to 'upgrade' to the XB1 version, I hear its quite good but not yet wireless.

Hearing the motion tracker via the controller is awesome. Some other titles with the feature do feel pretty gimmicky but CA seem to have nailed it here. Not sure how the PS4 controller and its sound works on the PC though sorry.

Man this game keeps on getting better and better! Just played a rather cool scene. Don't want to spoil it. But wow!

Spare me the graphics whore content. Overall gaming experience is a subjective measure. I'm not 12 y/o anymore so it takes more than flashy tech specs to impress me. I'll take fun gameplay over visual content everyday.

Turns out Oculus Rift DK2 support is still in the game. I tried it out and it works pretty well, you could actually play the game that way.

I'm playing this on the DK2 and it's pretty freakin horrifying. Rift implementation isn't perfect, but good enough to be really immersive and immersion in this game equals bowel control problems LOL. Really intense experience.

Ideally, we don't have to choose one over the other.
