I got these: surround sound. Get 'em when they're dirt cheap ($60 is good) and not over $100.

Amazon.com: Logitech Wireless Gaming Headset G930 with 7.1 Surround Sound: Electronics

The only drawback is that the cushion part started peeling. Other than that; they're great.

yeah I have had Logitech headphones... Triton headphones.... Sony, Turtle beach, you name it.....all of which break down or fall apart after a while.... except my Corsairs..... still like brand new....

Siennheiser are great too

just in terms of durability anyway :wink1:

I always buy corsair where I can, great products and after service when needed. I almost went with a corsair headset but ultimately I went for the best sound quality possible within a realistic budget, which is Siennheiser.

Yeah, I'll try your corsairs when my current headsets break down completely (as in, you can't hear nothing, or they can't hear me).

Funny. Off topic but I have Logitech speakers from 2004. 5.1 speakers. Still good. :lol Can't believe they lasted so long.

I'm using Astro A50s. Well made, but the sound IMO is only good. Not amazing. Tried Trittons. They were decent. Turtle Beaches have good sound, but are really poorly made. They break if you look at them wrong.

These guys?

Amazon.com: PlayStation Gold Wireless Stereo Headset - Jet Black: playstation 4: Video Games

For some reason, I thought these were only stereo, not 7.1. I'd been looking at them, so I'm not heavily leaning towards the golds.

I'd recommend that you skip the Sony Gold entirely. The Turtle Beach sets tend to have much better sound quality by comparison, since they utilize optical output connectors which would make use of the console's sound processor (as I've been told by an audiophile friend on SSF). And even the one that you previously linked, the Turtle Beach Ear Force Stealth 500P, looks pretty good.

In addition, the TB sets have a patented feature called "mic monitoring", that enables you can hear your own voice when chatting (so you won't have raise your voice louder than you have to). Some of them also have adjustable blast limiters, which reduce the noise of explosions in your ear.

I did a quick search of the comments on Amazon, and it seems like the negative reviews are from the headset being too tight. However, it's likely that the plastic head-band simply needs to be broken in. I can attest to this, as I've been using a TB X-Ray for just over eight months on my PS3. At first, the fit was very tight and somewhat uncomfortable, but after a week of use it became slack, and now I can use it for hours on end.

I say you should go for it. In general, TB's higher end head-sets are pretty durable, good quality, and have some nifty features. And in case it doesn't work out, you can easily return it on Amazon for a full refund.

Edit: Actually, forget what I said about the optical out connector. Looks like the Stealth uses a USB receiver, as opposed to optical out :lol.

Well I already purchased the Gold. I'm sure it'll do find for me, especially for half the price.

I also am not worried about the mic, as I will probably never use it.

You will love the reactor.

Well God. Damn. It.

I ended my last gameplay (spoiler only if you've only played this for like two-three hours):

trying to get back to the communications thing to meet up with my shipmates. I got lost, and got stuck in a one-way room with a bunch of pipes. When trying to leave, I had THREE of those sons of ******* strolling towards me, with nowhere to go.

So far, the Working Joes scare me WAY more than the Alien.

I finally beat the game. Took me around 20 hours (according to steam). I think if you are an alien fan you will definitely love this game like I did. However there were some if not many frustrating moments during the game but I wont get into that. I'd rate it around 8.0 for the fans and maybe 7.0 for normal gamer.

Off topic. I know I've already said this a while back.. but does anyone want the alien from alien isolation? I think the design is epic, and I would love to see a maquette or a figure from hot toys.

and they don't forget the little things when seeing the big picture.... like making sure to squeeze every last breath from body...
Be sure to ask a working Joe about the many ways to crush your skull against a wall

:rotfl

Tut, tut. Something's amiss.

Isn't it just the Big Chap?
