:gah: Work. I just wanna stay home and finish this game already.

Just got killed by the Xenodouche for the first time after the transit station. Glad I went to the bathroom before... oh **** :lol.

I've died so many times. I can't remember my first. The best death though is when you get stabbed in the back cause it's so unsuspecting.

Yeah first time gets yeah for sure... I died for the first time after throwing a flare, it took a bounce and landed too close to me... I was too afraid to move and he got me :lol

now I have the flamethrower and the tables have turned...... NOW WHOS THE *****!! :rotfl

:lol It does feel good watching it run away from fire.

Look what I found:

I've not even encountered the alien yet and this game scares the **** out of me.

Seriously, with the headphones cranked up you really get that feeling of loneliness on the space station. I'm probably only 20-40 minutes into the game, but I have to say, I've enjoyed playing so far.

Yeah, the noise really messes with your head.

Honestly I just started and was too boring. I wanted to interact with the Xeno so I decided to try Crew Expandable, and man did I **** up :lol

That Xeno just ****ed me up maybe 6 times within 10 minutes. Especially when you go into the vents....damn I nearly **** myself.

I will say I really really reallllyyyyy hate the camera controls on this. Still interesting game, honestly Mordor has me busy cause those revenge missions on orcs just get me so hot-blooded :lol

And man Sigourney Weaver was so hot...actually she's still okay :rotfl

I asked this in the PS4 thread, but since this question is primarily for playing Alien, I figured I'd ask here.

What are the best options for a surround sound headset for the PS4?

I want it primarily for Alien Isolation, then eventually The Evil Within, but basically it's because some games I want louder sound than my sleeping wife will allow.

I was looking at this one, but it's been getting mixed reviews:

Amazon.com: Turtle Beach Ear Force Stealth 500P Premium Fully Wireless Gaming Headset with DTS Headphone:X 7.1 Surround Sound for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and Mobile Devices (TBS-3270-01): Video Games

I own the PS Gold headphones and absolutely love them. 7.1 surround and has a companion app that you can use to download some preset game optimized settings or create your own. Completely comfortable to wear for extended periods of time.

Lastly, they are cheaper than those ones you have listed. I got mine from Amazon for $89 a month ago.

EDIT: I'm using the "Horror" setting on mine for Alien. Brings it to a whole other level of terror.

These guys?

Amazon.com: PlayStation Gold Wireless Stereo Headset - Jet Black: playstation 4: Video Games

For some reason, I thought these were only stereo, not 7.1. I'd been looking at them, so I'm not heavily leaning towards the golds.

7.1 rocks, i'm using Corsair Vengeance headphones.... killer sound
I must get a horror preset for the software and try it out, Thanks

I can't game without these anymore and I have surround sound hooked up to my PS4. :lol

I'm the same. There's no real comparison between a system and headphones. When it comes to gaming, you can't beat a headset. Especially in a game like this. You hear every creak and groan of the ship and the Alien sounds like a elephant stomping through the vents..very unnerving.

I've long since wanted a pair of good headphones for my consoles.

For PC gaming, I was always about headphones. Having them jacked up while playing Doom 3 was terrifying.

Or anywhere for that matter. What's crazy is when it's walking about in the open ... when it gets quiet and you think it's gone; it's really there just walking real slow like. Good thing they had that peak button. I've been playing on the PC with an XBOX controller. It's real useful and it's saved me a lot.

I looked at headsets for ages and settled on the Sennheiser PC 350 SE, not surround sound but the sound is excellent! As is the mic. My only complaint is that I'm hot blooded and these get a little warm at times.

Yeah, he sounds so heavy walking around..it's really well done. Speaking of well done, I had to turn the music off. I didn't want to, but it was so effective, I was freaking out even when nothing was happening. It's TOO good. At one point, I just couldn't take the music anymore and shut it off. It did have a cool side effect of making the game feel more real which is a good and bad thing.

You get use to that. I hated wearing headphones, but eventually just got use to having them on.
