I think I've decided only to play this game at night with the lights off. Started it that way last night and it was great. Jumped a little a couple times.

The jittery cutscenes are annoying and ripleys voice actress leaves something to be desired. That or ****** dialogue was written.

It would be a travesty to play this one during the day. The game should only run if it's past a certain time at night lol

:lecture

That is the only way this game should be played; in the dark of night, with the lights completely off, and if I may add, with surround sound (if you have it). One helluva experience.

Anyone get that season pass thing for this game?

Nope, I generally don't unless it's Battlefield, and I even regret that for BF4. If it turns out good I'll buy them individually, probably wont cost much more anyway. I'm not sure this is the kind of game that will keep me hooked for a year anyway so I'll take any extra as and when it comes.

Well, in defense of the alien isolation, it's a good game and really well done to justify a season pass.

I might do it. But I have to find out what we get.

hey all - playing on PS4 - when you select an item to hold, such as: gun, medical item, or flare, is there a way to unselect the item - so as to not hold anything? Seems once an item is selected you gotta hold it?

How is survivor mode? Fun?

Curious to hear as well.....these Season passes seem expensive with what you get, generally speaking

Oh I agree, I wasn't suggesting otherwise. Maybe I'm just getting old and bitter. I remember buying a game and having all the content included with it. I really dislike the new ways of doing things, I.E season passes that often cost more than the game and micro transactions etc. It's all about pre orders now and that is what season passes are. I'll wait and see if the content turns out to be something I'd actually like to buy rather than committing to it now. If it is, I'll buy it.

I didnt find the blueprint for 'Fun', what room is that in and what are the components needed to craft?
Anyway to answer you, I know you hold a flare, but if you select a gun it wont show up until you aim it, also try using the wrench thing and then interacting with something, it should empty your hands, but I'm not 100% sure.
This annoyed me too, as I don't like things blocking my view

The season pass is $30, but this new map pack, gauntlet mode and character is only 1 of 5 expansions included with the pass :wink1:

Yeah, it seems the only way to not have a flare, med kit, etc, in your hand after selecting it (for me, usually accidentally) is to select a weapon, which will automatically holster after a few seconds of not being used.

This was annoying before I got the revolver - I kept accidentally selecting the flare when I was getting used to the controls. This was early in the game, when I thought flares would be this rare commodity that I didn't want to waste. Little did I know I'd basically have them maxed for the entirety of the game.

Once I got the flame thrower that was basically all I ever had in-hand, and it isn't visible unless you're holding the left trigger. Which, by the way, is how you see where you're going in the air ducts during "Crew Expendable" as there is no flashlight.

Regarding the DLC/Season Pass, from IGN today:

In total, there's five packs coming to the stealth-horror game: Corporate Lockdown, Trauma, Safe Haven, Lost Contact, and The Trigger are all due for release periodically between October 28, 2014 and March 2015.

Each of the packs will offer a different perspective centred around the events on Sevastopol Station in the run up to the arrival of the Weyland-Yutani team, with every bundle offering a different playable character, unique objectives, and a new game mode.

In the first bit of DLC, Corporate Lockdown, Seegson Executive Ransome learns he's been abandoned by superiors and, knowing that the Torrens is on its way, plans to make a daring escape with Nostromo data in tow.

Elsewhere in the DLC are three new challenge maps - named Severance, Scorched Earth, and Loose Ends - which challenge players to compete for the leaderboard top-spot by escaping in the fastest time possible or by attaining the highest score via side quests.

On top of that, there's also the addition of Gauntlet mode. In this mode, players must tackle all three challenge maps, back-to-back, without dying.

Corporate Lockdown is due to drop October 28, priced at $7.99/€6.99/£5.59, respectively. Season Pass owners get all the content at no extra charge.

ok thanks.....I think my surprise came from the fact there were two DLCs involving the original crew. I had thought there was just the one, that came in the Nostromo edition originally = thanks for the clarification

With pleasure! :hi5:

Congrats. :hi5:

I really wish I had the time to play this game as it is so immersive. My goal is to do some damage Friday night and possibly Saturday night. I hope to finish sometime before 2015. :lol

That's been my issue with playing it. For most games, I don't like to have a quickie 30 minute session, or a light 60 minute-er, but I can make do.

But for this game, if I don't have at least a couple hours free, I don't bother. It would just seem... wrong.
