With MP-25 rumor coming true, will be very interesting indeed to see what happens with MP 26/27. If Ironhide/Ratchet, wow, great times indeed, two of my fav chars from G1 and their original toys are so horrendous.

Anyone here have Masterpiece Rodimus displayed with the MP-10 onward line? On the fence about picking him up.

Does anyone have a picture of the new Generations Leader Class Megatron next to the nine inch Hasbro masterpiece Optimus Prime? Are they the same height?

Also, so it is confirmed we are getting Ironhide, Tracks, Hound, and Ratchet?!?

If so that is awesome news. Gonna be a great year!

Only Tracks is confirmed. Ironhide, Ratchet, and Hound are all rumors, but rumors from sources that have been correct in the recent past.

I had hoped MP25 might be something to help rekindle some of the intrest I've been losing in the official line.

But it's only Tracks

If rumors are true and Ironhide/Ratchet is the next new mold then that'll be an easy pass as well.

I'd be intrested in Hound as both 3rd party ones miss the mark but as with Ironhide/Ratchet it remains to be seen whether that particular rumor is legit.

As for the lack of Decepticons, it should be obvious by now that Autobots sell better in Takara's home market of Asia, what collectors in North America or Europe may be demanding isn't something that matters to them.

The good thing is that the official Masterpiece line is no longer the only option and thanks to XTransbots and Fans Toys I'll be getting a decent Megatron, Bombshell and Reflector this year.

After that the only Decepticons I have any real intrest in are,

Shrapnel & Kickback ( Already confirmed by FT. )

MP11-TC ( Easy repaint for Takara.)

Astrotrain ( The DX09 figure is a very good effort, but can be improved on in a number of ways and in time I think it will be.)

Constructicons ( I don't think Takara are capable of doing them proper justice as they'd have to cut too many corners to meet their price point and pass their safety tests. A 3rd party version wouldn't have the same limitations. )

I'm sceptical on whether a cartoon accurate Blitzwing is even possible as there's a lot of kibble to hide and none of the customs I've seen really do the job of matching the official aesthetic. If a 3rd party can prove otherwise then I'd definitely consider buying.

On the scale chart the Constructicons are just under Seeker height in robot mode so they'd cost more than the cars.

With their apparent reluctance to make new Decepticons it seems unlikely that Takara would commit their resources to 6 all new molds of that size.

If they did I think there'd be all kinds of compromises to keep the cost down and the end result would be something that was barely an improvement on that thing revealed at Toy Fair. The combined mode might be OK but the individual Constructicons would be treated almost as an afterthought. I feel that Masterpiece Constructicons should look as good individually as when they're combined.

I don't think Hot Rod looks bad in size with the mp-10 onward molds. Listen, will Takara revisit? Who knows? But they made mp-10 to line-up w/ Hot Rod and newer molds, right? I just can't find one decently priced.

The people that whine and cry about the "rumors" on future releases... well, let it go. So far, many of those "rumor mongers" have been dead on... long live the MP line... they make 'em, I'll buy 'em.

Give me: Megatron ver. 2, Mirage, Ironhide, Ratchet, Jazz, Hound... and I'm done.

Rodimus is meant to be that big in robot mode, it's only the Hot Rod part of MP09 that's out of scale.

He's not meant (IMO) to be displayed in Hot Rod mode. Is HR's alt mode also oversized? How big was he pre-prime? Just as big as Kup?

On the scale chart pre-Matrix Hot Rod is the same height as Kup and Blurr so if Masterpieces were made they would each be slightly taller in robot mode than the other Autobot cars.

I didn't realize the bots were intended to be so large in the cartoon (though obviously, realistic vehicles would be fairly large). However, there is a precedent for making them smaller!

The only figures im interested in getting in mp scale are mirage (sphinx will fill that role), sunstreaker (om's figure is looking pretty good), jazz, and apollyon. After i get these then i wont feel the need to get anymore and my collection will be complete enough unless theres one that looks really cool (like the new tracks coming this year) then those are the exceptions i'll make but they arent priorities. What about you guys?

That GIF perfectly illustrates that what the scale chart intended and what actually ended up on the screen were often quite different

I would hope that anyone attempting Masterpiece Constructicons sticks to the scale chart.
