Re: Ordering from amazon.co.jp?

Anyone in the U.S. ever order from amazon.co.jp? Seems pretty limited to what they're willing to ship (items must be in-stock and sold by amazon.co.jp - not a 3rd party fulfillment), but the savings seem significant. MP-10 for example is only $114 + $30 shipping - a $45 savings over what I paid to get him. Unfortunately at this time, none of the Masterpiece figures I want and don't already have are in-stock.

you can but you often have to line up shipping via one of the outside shipping places. you have it sent to one of the middle man shipping guys in japan/china then once they receive it from amazon, they ship it to you. tenso is a big one lots of people use.

XTransbots Cyclonus....and somebody's legs :lol

Also,
Fans Toys Omega Supreme is happening. dalianj confirmed it in one of the FT threads at TFW but said it might take a while due to the scale of the project.

2nd run X-Transbots Apollyon arrived today. Nice looking figure. Really nice looking. Great sculpt. Not very solid though, feels cheap, especially after putting Prime down and picking Megs up. Beats the MP05 to pieces as far as display quality though. $125ish would've been more like it for this but I'm glad I snagged him.

BBTS claimed that there wasn't actually a second run, so much as a second shipment of a first run. But we'll see. Mine is sitting in my "Pile of Loot" along with FansToys Perceptor.

Interesting. I ordered mine from TFSource for $164.99 shipped. They advertise him as a 2nd production run figure.

I've got my eye on that Perceptor figure too. Looks dang good in the pics I've seen.

I am thinking about collecting TFs again... a little. I bought the SDCC Devastator and picked up the regular hasbro release yesterday from TRU. I like it. Fun toy. Not sure I need to keep both. I put a Takara on order as I like the extra head it comes with but we'll see how I feel in 5 months.

I am planning to grab a MakeToys Giant again too.... that was the last TF I sold a few years ago when I dumped my TF collection and it is the one I miss the most aside from MP-08 and MP-10. I plan to get those as well and get some other MPs but not go the repaint route I did last time. MP-10, MP-08, a bumblebee, soundwave, starscream, prowl, wheeljack and lambor is probably sufficient... and a quakwave. I know I'd like to get all those back eventually. The ones I am unsure of are Quantron and the FT dinobots.

I ordered Commotus too though from MMC, because that thing looks AMAZING.

I have been collecting transformers again. it has been over 10+ years since I collected transformers. I have massed some good ones like quake wave ft soar aka swoop im going to collect all the dinobots. I have bad cube`s brawn . xtransbots megatron Hasbro`s soundwave. I need the jets all three yet. I have mp-10 takara version. prowl wheeljack bluestreak red alert smokescreen. im still looking for lambor and bumble bee to round out the autobots. I am bidding on cubex`s huffer so hopefully I can win him.

Silly q, but is Omega going to be MP scaled? Is it even possible?

None of the snippets of info from dalianj have suggested otherwise. He commented a while back that making larger characters was tricky because of "the scale we work at" so it sounds like there's going to be little in the way of compromises :yess:

G1 Omega Supreme is probably the biggest partsformer of them all and also had a few other gimmicks so it'll certainly be a challenge, but one that could prove to be the next stage on the route to an MP combiner as getting all those parts to fit together whilst retaining the stability and articulation for robot mode is bound to be invaluable experience.

Transformers were really the start of my collecting days about nine years ago. Mostly bought figures from the movies and Transformers Animated show. I stopped buying those type of figures after Dark of the Moon, and kind of went away from transformers. This past year, I've gotten really into the masterpiece line of transformers. Right now I have Hasbro Optimus, Bumblebee, Wheeljack, Sideswipe, Bluestreak, Prowl, Grimlock, and all of the FT dinobots (one on order) and FT Hound (on order). For the decepticons, I have Soundwave w/ laserbeak, Skywarp, and Quakewave. Over time I'm looking for the rest of the seekers, and good Megatron, and maybe some more season 1 autobots.

I am bidding on cubex`s huffer so hopefully I can win him.

I have him and while it is really well designed, there are serious problems with the paint flaking. BC have said they will eventually get around to a rerelease with improved paint and QC. It could take a while but I'd hang on for that if I were you.

That's what I did and it's ok so far, I know some people it didn't work for as a long-term solution though. I don't really understand the reason but I remember someone surmising that the plastic hadn't been properly prepared for painting at the factory so gloss would only be effective to an extent.

As I said gloss seems to have done the trick for my Huff, but I'll still probably pick up an updated version in the future if the price is right.

I think Huff is still Badcube's best all round design and the general aesthetic and mechanics of the transformation is as good as any other MP style figure currently available.

Their original factory let them down badly with the paint, the looseness on the hip joints and a couple of pegs on the leg panels not tabbing in as tightly as they should have, things that the reissue will inevitably fix.

MMC Mirage is looking pretty good but I would like to see a better shade of silver used on some of the car mode detailing or better yet, chrome as those bits are currently looking a tad bland.

The real Ligier JS11 looked like this,

G1 Mirage had chrome,

The cartoon just had a generic grey color in much the same way any gold on the Dinobots was yellow. As an option for a cheap cartoon it made sense, but would look a bit crappy on a MP level toy.

Yeah, it's really missing some chrome or silver paint. It would really push it over the top.

New pictures of Planet X' Grimlock. It looks ****ing incredible, and it absolutely dwarfs the Hasbro voyager.
