Now just to wait for MP-12 to show up to my door.

man that looks awesome! hope there's a cheaper US release :lol

I want to have hope... I really do. Toy wise though I am extremely worried, RotF had the best movie toys IMO, DotM was, mixed.

DOTM toys were just terrible besides Leader Iron Hide IMO and the few Human Alliance figures. i was so let down by those. if disney acquires Hasbro, hopefully they can get them to make some better figures

I got the Masterpiece Optimus today. Overall, I like him better than the original.

Since it was an online buy I didn't get to look the paint over, however. Do any of you customizers know the right shade of yellow paint to use on the lights above the windshield? There's a paint chip on mine that I'd like to touch up.

im a member of the hercules club at last! 25 years to wait for a proper devastator is a long time haha! revised version £330/$530 with rage kit shipped all in was a decent price and that rage kit art work is great! seems like a daunting task having to put it all together tho!

Probably be easier to just pick a shade that's close and repaint all of them than to match one to the original shade.

Just FYI.

Coming Soon To A Cinema Near You,

Another 2 hours of visual excrement with even more explosions, toilet humor, explosions and footage of the US Military causing explosions.

The robots will look like random chunks of scrap metal welded together by Wheeljack's blind, mad cousin after binging on Energon snacks for a week because according to the alleged "director" that's keeping the movie series "grounded in reality".

Coming Soon To A Toy Retailer Near You,

1000 more Bumblebees you don't really want, a few dozen Primes and a selection of other toys that probably won't have any paint this time as Hasbro are too cheap to bother.

farrs,
Congrats sir!

Hope you have lots of fun with the big guy, it's a very geeky moment when you click the last piece into place and see Herc towering over the rest of your collection!

I think the same happens with Transformers, you only have to look at Bayformers, Prime or Animated to see how bad things can get when the people running the franchise try and do something different.

Yeah, but I actually LIKE Prime and Animated. By and large, Hasbro has done well with Transformers media reboots, I think.

The Bay movies... meh. I enjoy them on a certain level, but it's a pretty base level. And I hate the designs for the most part.

Whether it's pure nostalgia or whatever, the G1 designs are still just as loved as they were 30 years ago and Takara have finally realised it's "ultimate" versions of those characters that people are after over anything else and they're even willing to pay out for licenses to get the authentic alt modes.

Yep, G1 is still where it's at. Nothing beats the originals! :)

Whilst reading the Masterpiece speculation thread at TFW2005 I've seen suggestions that Takara should change the alt modes for the series 1 characters that they probably won't be able to get the licenses for but now Takara have set a precedent with deals with Lamborghini and Nissan I think it's more likely they'll just not make them unless they base the alt modes on the animation models as there's probably enough differences to avoid a lawsuit.

Hmm, that sounds like an "immoral" third party company approach! ;)

Just FYI.

Congrats! Herc is great.

Heh, I like the military footage.

Ha! So true. Grounded in reality my a$$.

But like I said, it can be hit or miss. I kind of like the movie Prime design (though the flames are pretty white trash for straight-shooter Optimus). Most of the rest range from meh to downright ugly.

And lol at the Bumblebee comment. Hopefully Hasbro's learned its lesson, seeing all the unsold movie, Prime FE and RiD 'Bees still on the shelves... but maybe that's too much to hope for.

Perhaps after this fourth movie they finally change the director and that doped monkey who designed those movie bots.

Grounded in reality...yeah. I bet those animators had some kind of a contest about who makes the most incomprehensible looking robot. I couldn't most likely even tell what those robots are supposed to look like without all those still pictures and promo material. And it doesn't help that mostly all those movie characters doesn't really have any characteristics whatsoever.

Optimus is kind of ok and he even looks like Optimus and jazz wasn't that bad. But that's it.

Lovely synopsis Corsair...somehow I don't think you are offbase...lol.

I don't usually profess to be able to see the future but I think I'm onto something with my TF4 predictions :lol

DPrime,
I liked some of the Animated toys especially Blurr and Leader Class Megatron ( I still have 'em somewhere ) and watched some of the cartoon but once my inner Gwunner emerged it became easy to dismiss.

I saw the first 5 episodes of Prime but the Bayformers influenced designs meant it never really had a chance with me.

I didn't watch the first Bayformers movie until around 18 months after it was released as the first pics of the characters were....not what I was expecting.

When I did finally see it my initial reaction was justified and although I saw ROTF a couple of times at the cinema it was more of a social thing as friends I had at the time wanted to see it.

I ignored DOTM and will be doing likewise with TF4....Bay's formula has unquestionably made money but I have no intrest in seeing any more of it.

If someone competent comes along in 5-10 years and does a reboot I'd take a look at it but right now any intrest in TV or big screen Transformer action is nil.....unless the '86 Movie gets a CGI makeover for it's 30th Anniversary in 2016.

It's funny when the anti-3rd party crowd go on about IP infringement as Has/Tak have never licensed the F-15 from McDonnell Douglas or the vast majority of alt modes they've used over the years.

The major exceptions are BT/Alternators, the Alternity line, ROTF Leader Class Jetfire and the Masterpiece Lamborghinis.

So it can be argued that Has/Tak are guilty of IP infringement on a much larger scale than any 3rd party :lol

My biggest argument against the "grounded in reality" BS is this,

Transformers are ALIENS, so who's to say they couldn't alter their mass at will?

Isn't Bumblebee doing this in the first movie when he suddenly turns into a new camaro. I'm pretty sure old and new camaro aren't the same size and they don't have the same weight. So much for the reality.

If you are referring to megatron and his gunmode with this, I actually read really silly and stupid comment about this from Empire magazine years ago. It was made by shia labuuf and it went something like this; "Megatron isn't a gun since we don't really like to promote gun violence and guns are bad mmmkay". Um, military stuff and vehicles and that mindless violence in those movies aren't bad/promoting violence? Besides Megatron could have been tank and not some stupid looking...thing.

Yeah, someone told me that on a DVD extra even the FX guys admitted in the end that they had to cheat with the transformations, and that's even without the obvious example of the Allspark :lol

I think I may have read that comment about Megatron but I also seem to remember a lot of crap from Bay relating to various changes that he decided to make....his justification for changing Bumblebee's alt mode was that the Beetle "made me think of Herbie" :slap

!
Odd that they would promote the movie this way, but at least they are being honest.
