Actually, it's the other way around, Chavez. Some REQUESTED that change when the original proto pics hit.
Also, let's not assume that the material choice was Sideshow's and not at the behest of the Lucasfilm Licensing Pinheads (that's if they didn't change it because people said they should in the other thread on here).
They can fix this. Easily.
On the official SS blog they're stating that Marlon Wayans is a really big fan of puffy cloaks and to "have faith, because look how cool the Aragorn PF is...."

What really sucks is that I thought it looked so good that I put it on Flex-Pay,I get screwed twice.

I've posted in the Ask Sideshow section about the robe, hopefully it'll get a response and we'll learn some information. Right now, the questions are:
1) Did LFL decide this or was the decision based on fan reaction?
2) Was the QTVR robe the first one and the proto images the second one?
Actually, where's master Trev when we need him, it sounded like he'd seen the PF before we all did, maybe he could share what robe was on it when he got a glimpse and we'd know what's going on.

I don't think we can blame Sideshow at all on this. My guess is either LFL or collector's voices influenced the matter, and it would be shame on either of those 2 bodies for speaking up.

Ahh... nice spot. Indeed, it looks like they listened to some of the suggestions from just after the initial prototype pics hit. So to whoever asked for the robe material change:

Wait... you're cancelling ALREADY based on the new prototype??
He's on FlexPay, first payment might be coming soon. That's why I never FlexPay, I prefer the comfort to cancel last minute and see the finished product before making the choice. With FlexPay, you have to take a gamble on your decision and cut your losses either way.

chavez, make sure you tell them WHY you're cancelling (re: the new robe material). That way, they'll fix it back and I can keep my order.

It's a great option, it's a nice thing that they offer it, just never suits me, not because I worry I won't like the finished product, I always pass on it because I'm not sure if I might change my mind about budgeting a piece into the collection and once you make a first payment you're almost locked in. I'd rather shipping come and figure out will I have the money, should I still spend it, all of the flexibility standard pay affords us.
Well,one of the girls answered the phone and basically said after putting me on hold and checking with someone else that Sideshow hasn't changed anything and then asked me if I was going by a rumor.Then I said no,I'm going by the conflicting pics on your website.I then said if you look at the QTR pics,Anakin has a different textured robe on when compared to the pic in the image gallery.Then without looking at the pics,she still said that nothing was changed to her knowledge,but if I wanted to cancel now,I could without getting charged the Flex-Pay fees,.So I asked her if I could keep the order open until the final product comes out,and she said sure,if your not happy with the final product you can cancel it,and not have to pay the fees.

Well, this may be too recent a change, if there has been a change made from the pictures, for CS agents to be aware of. The QTVR just came out today, I'm sure there wasn't anticipation of a need to alert CS if a change has occurred.
Fact is, we still don't know the full story. The pictures may be more current than the QTVR for all we know. We really need someone at SS to speak up on the matter for us.

Nothing will change my mind until I see the pooduction pics. I Know that Sideshow will listen to us and do what is best for the piece. I really want to get this for my 1st SW PF and I am sure the production piece will turn out just as good as it is in those pics.
