I don't agree, this anakin is awesome

Anakin is still awesome, which is the kick to the balls of this whole thing, it was 100% awesome before, but this new change knocks it down to about 85% which sucks, the robe was a case of it "if it's not broke don't fix it", it looked great the way it originally was.

im not liking the new robe material either. looks way too cheap. thumbs down from me....too bad, i was looking forward to this one.

Well, if this change was due to listening to these boards versus LFL stepping in, then I really hope they listen now to the discontent and go back. If they can swap it out in that short of a time for the QTVR, the there's plenty of time to go back before the robe hits the production line.

Is there any chance that the QTVR is the first version? I can't imagine they would change it from the how it first looked to what we see now.

Not digging the change at all. The overall piece still rocks and I'll keep it but I hope they go back to the other as it looked better.

And once again, the skies rain down with the cries of "OH NOES!" based on one prototype picture.

Man, this hobby is a rollercoaster. If they got it right or the 1/6, I highly doubt they'll f it up for the larger, more impressive scale.

I still love the piece. :D

In the QTVR it seems like there is wire in the collar and hem of the cloak and it hasn't been posed at all. In the original proto pics there doesn't appear to be wire in the cloak. I think that could be all the difference there is.

This isn't like usual proto woes though, we all loved the proto and this is like proto 2 and it got worse already, hense concern about the production piece. It's not like people are worrying just from the initial proto, it's changes that are already being made and not for the better.

Interesting point, but ultimately, I think material like the proto images that just naturally hangs well is the better path than sculpting rigid material with wires, you may get folds but if you're trying to replicate how cloth hangs and you can do it with hanging cloth, that's the route to go.

Compared to the QTVR it looks like a totally different material to me. It flows and there's texture to it.

I see what you're saying, MaulFan, but it still looks like the new cloak was simply not posed/futzed with to me. I've seen some HORRIBLE pics of the Jedi SS 1/6 figures, as some people just can't figure out how to use the wires to their advantage, so I'm not feeling shock or dismay here quite yet.

I agree that this new cloak may not be posed of futzed, it's just shocking because one of the first things that wowed me about the PF when I saw the first proto images was how nicely the robe rested on the base statue, and even with some futzing and wire work, I still think the stiff material won't look as nicely as the gauzy material.

Simply put, the robe in this QTVR looks AWFUL.

I'm not paying $300+ if it looks like that, sorry. They must fix it.

Have you guys seen the 360 on the exclusive with the hood up? Yikes. The cloak looks very dollish now I'm sad to say. I'm not as emotionally invested in PF's as some, but as a very choosy collector I do not think I can justify $300 for a piece that has such questionable tailoring. You can always just display him with the cloak off (assuming his sword arm is removeable) but $300 for this when the Captain America exclusive had an extra head, extra shield, and an alternate base for $20 less and NO faults whatsoever...then this really needs to be fixed if I'm going to pull the trigger on this one.
