Thanks for the insight Trev. It'll be difficult to say how great the sculpt is until I see it in person but it's certainly the best Anakin sculpt I've ever seen.

You are hands down one of the most talented sculpters SS's ever had.

Awesome work Trev. Hope you have some more SW characters coming for us.

It certainly does look like him. I just don't think it's the same kind of "OMG it's him!" sculpt that we saw with Old Ben, or even with the Aragorn PF.

agreed, it "looks" like hayden and I can recognize it because ive watched star wars. But it's not a 100% likeness to him, I can see a bit of idealization in the sculpt. Still a nice piece, but anyone trying to say that it's 100% accurate to Hayden, i strongly disagree.

I think that it looks great...

Why does the US get a DVD cover that fits in???

My ROTS DVD stands out like...something that stands out...

The profile looks like Hayden but I'm just not feelin' this one yet. The robe material looks way too thick to me.

If you look at the pics of this on Sideshow you see that the robe material hangs perfect...NOW it looks like they changed it (in the 360) to a crappy thick material which now looks like he just got out of the shower, maybe they listened to that crazy demand of changing the cloak material after all and ruined part of this kick ass figure.

I am all for making it exact AS possible but when you sacrifice aesthetics for a more exact looking material then I say bad call!...just my opinion.

THANK YOU.

That's why I said when all the cloak material *****ing went down, the gauzy material was a better choice in the way it hangs off the figure. I think he looks kinda ****ty now compared to before, I loved how the first cloak hun on the figure.

AMEN ...I thought I was going to be shot by the SW crazies for bringing it up...this change may actually make me decide to cancel it now...this is how bad i think that the new cloak looks on it...the cloak was a big part of how it hanged in the movie and on this figure...just terrible...hope they change it back :(

This is what I was afraid of as well. :monkey2

I suppose we might now have to water treat this $300 statue?

Sad but true, maybe it can look better than they did it for the QTVR, but right now, it looks as sketchy as 1/6 cloaks do, and it's fine in 1/6 because it's smaller and there's only so much you can do, but 1/4 gives more options, and we've even seen a better one for this. Of all things to change from people's comments, they picked the worst one to act on :( or some LFL tool made them change it.

By the way, this is YOUR fault MaulFan. You started that thread where people requested all the changes to this piece. :lol

I'm teasing you, of course, but I do hope Sideshow ultimately goes with overall aesthetics instead of material for the sake of "authenticity". Here is what I originally posted in that thread:

Not that any of these "nit-picks" lack any validity, but I do hope you guys understand that Sideshow's #1 priority is not necessarily to create a 100% screen accurate replica in 1:4 scale, but a display quality collectible. In other words, they will almost always have to make a minor concession or two in order to produce the most dynamic and effective collectible piece. (For example, while this robe material is not accurate, it might make for a better-looking display piece)

Why should we when we pay 300 for him, go back to the old material would be the best solution. I do not post often because mostly I am quite happy with SS products and their quality, but this looks terrible, and this is one change demand that should have fallen on deaf ears.

Haha, I know you're just messing, but there are some issues raised that were relative to inaccurracies hurting the look of the piece, which is why I ommitted the cloak material from the post I started that thread with, I knew the choice of cloth they went with was about the flow and would suit us best.

Again though, before going off on too much of a tangent, we have to remember the almighty suits at LFL have a say in things to and this could just as easily be them ****ing us over again.
