I picked up the 8gb.

I'll try it out for a bit and sell it when I get bored - like I did with the PSP, PS3, Wii, etc - hehe.

I'll give my review of it this weekend.

Sorry I couldn't find a thread on this...I'm in Australia and can't wait for this mobile to be release, will more than likely wait for the G3 2nd Version of this gem of a phone.

So who out of you cashed up American are going to get on to this beauty???:monkey5

not me:rolleyes:

hey guys, how much are Iphones going for now? And is it only useable with one carrier?

I see the 8GB for $299 shipped. interesting....

Does CIngular use SIM cards?

Well, it's actually AT&T (=Cingular)

You have to use that service though, I don't think it uses any SIM cards. If you already have Cingular (AT&T) then you can switch to the Iphone but you have to add some of their services to it--like unlimited email or something.

ah no SIM card is a deal breaker for me. I need a SIM compatible phone for when I travel internationally. I guess Tmobile it is.

Mine used to say Cingular but one day I looked at it and then it said AT&T

I just checked, the iPhone does have a SIM card but you can't switch it out with an old phone, the iPhone activates with it's SIM card and that SIM card will only work with that phone, if you put an old SIM card into it it will try to activate it which it can't.

But since I've already got a phone (although pretty crappy) I'm fine with getting the iPod Touch since that has some of the extra features of the iPhone but more memory.

im all over an iphone. im just waiting until my contract with verizon runs up in november... hopefully by then they have the second gen. getting ready to be released.

I'm with you, though for me it'll be October 08 before my contract is out, and who knows, maybe in another year verizon will be onboard too.

You guys do know that you can jailbreak your iphone and use pretty much any carrier right? Apple does not officially support this and jailbreaking essentially voids your warranty but you can always restore it back to the original factory state should you need to get it serviced. I work for Apple and I jailbroke mine and hacked it with many 3rd party aps like an NES emulator that I have all the old Nintendo ROMS to play. Plus you can customize ringtones and assign ANY AAC file by renaming the file extension .m4r and adding into your itunes library and it will sync to your phone or you can use a 3rd party ftp client like iphuc or the terminal.

I don't know dick about phones and don't proclaim too. Anyways I probably have a dumb question regarding this statement. Why can't you use phones with no SIM cards in foreign areas?

Cuz it's like Jack Bauer and CTU likes to keep tabs on its agents so you have to unlock the sim if you want to go dark.

That made zero sense what so ever. I would guess you were aiming that statement to be funny. However, I was asking a serious question Mr. Milk drinker. Go play with your dolls Deficate. :monkey3

Oh and for the record. You were just being an Ellis.
