Arghhh, New Hot Toys- Captain Jack sculpt revealed me hearties

Yup, HT is definitely relying on the dreads, facial hair and hat to make that sculpt Jack Sparrow...little to no Depp in it. But I have high hopes since it's this early!

And you can't compare a pic with normal faced jack (sculpt) with one where he specifically has the eyes opened big.

How about this?

If this was a sculpt, you would all yell "EYES SHOULD BE ROUNDER" lol

Look at Adam's head custom, no doubt who that is, it's Depp.

Look at the Hot Toys head w/o the beard. That doesn't look like Depp. End of discussion.

Blade, Bruce Lee DX, that I no for sure. I thought the Berserker Predator had his mandibles changed a bit too...

Aldo (sculpt), Falconer (added Falcon), Wolverine (sculpt), Ghost Rider (sculpt), Leonidas (added 2nd sculpt), War Marchine (added ex-wife)...

to add to that, Hans Landa (sculpt), Dastan (sculpt) and T-1000 (sculpt-ears I believe to be more precise)

Apart from the eyes - look at his face...it's not Depp and anyone who says it is needs to really examine a picture of Depp then look at the HT sculpt. The HT sculpt is fooling everyone because it has hair, bandana, eyeliner etc. - it sure AIN'T Depp.

I think they did the Godfather somewhat. There was a Godfather war between HT and EB which ended up both being winners! I hope the same things happens with Jack. It would be nice to try and decide which one to buy because they're BOTH great.

right? all there is, is a lot of back and forth banter on who needs their eyes checked b/c they can or cannot see Depp in the sculpt...

But truth is, people rarely complain about clothes, just the heads. Gotta love photoshops with arrows, lines of different colors and such

If the coat really is that horrible chocolate brown again like the first Jack and these early images suggest, I'll be first on HT's Facebook page _____ing. I let small details slide but his coat NEVER looked chocolate brown, it's a warm grey with mixes of light and dark browns and some blacks for weathering. NECA's 7" AWE got it perfectly. Even Medicom was closer with the black they used. Cant' really tell what EB's looks like.

HT is not afraid of tackling tattoos... just look at Barney Ross and Whiplash.

Personally I'd never display Jack like that so the option and increased cost for a muscle body and tattoo work would be wasted on me.

This will likely be on some sort of muscle body just because of the slightly exposed chest, like Indy.

that's true but I think Jack will definitely get criticized for his clothes, mostly the overcoat like Maulfan says below

I agree that Medicom definitely did a better job on the coat. i would hate the chocolate brown as well I even prefer my 12" Sparrow figure's coat from Zizzle. The likeness wasn't all that bad either if I may add especially for the $10 I paid for it, just needs repainted and put on a better body.

Hmmm... I would assume a fixed neck body like the Ezio; but not a full muscular.

Muscular body (IMO) would be too limiting with what will already be a fairly restrictive outfit.
