Asmus Toys: Merry and Pippin Lord of the Rings 1/6 Scale Figures

This kind of bothers me actually, Was hoping they would be in scale with Sam and Frodo....

they'll make a frodo and sam to go with merry and pippen so i don't know why people are upset about not matching the sizes to the sideshow hobbits. plus the asmus ones will no doubt look better, those ankles on the sideshow sam are horrible.

I'm either crossing my fingers the clothes fit the SS bodies, as I have spares, or hoping Asmus makes the bodies available separately.

Do you here me Asmus MAKE THE BODIES AVAILABLE SEPARATELY.

Hey Asmus, any chance at all of some sort of add-on pack with an alternate head for Merry along with the Lorien accessories? These figures otherwise look great, but that super-pissed head on Merry is pretty ridiculous. That head is gonna cause a lot of folks to not buy this two-pack, even though Pippin is terrific.

i wasnt talking from a money point of view, simply from having a matching proper collection.

I don't understand the hate for the SS Frodo and Sam. They may not be to scale but are still great looking figures with a lot of extras in accessories.

I do love that the Asmus hobbits are more to scale, though. That is the biggest plus on these figures. Unfortunately, as previously mentioned, I prefer not to have that pissed-off Merry on display. Doesn't capture the character's charm at all. Pippen's sculpt is much better but too deadpan serious. Too bad these are so close to being released and we were not provided an opportunity to share some opinions beforehand.

TBH, the SSC Frodo face sculpt wasn't the best, so I don't mind getting a retread of Frodo and Sam.

I just preordered these guys from Asmus website! I used my $10 off coupon that I got when I preordered Bard. Just a reminder for anyone else that may have forgot about that.

Anyways I'm so keen! I have doubles of all the SSC lord of the rings line and I originally just wanted to finish the line but now I'm stoked to have completely new figures of all of the characters. Bring it on Asmus!

I think I would have been okay with Merry's head sculpt if this was the RotK versions of Meriadoc Brandybuck, Esquire of Rohan, and Peregrin Took, Guard of the Citadel.

I think they've stayed they're trying something new. Having the final version of the figures ready when preorder goes up so literally what you see is what you get. That would explain the quick turn around.

Strange. Asmus has been so open to feedback on their WIPs until now. Would be a shame to lose that interaction, if that's the case.

I believe their intention is still to share WIP on the forum with us. But once they put up the preorder, what you see would be the final product. Don't take that as gospel, I'm just stating what my understanding is.

Not sure about heads being oversized, but hands need to be produced separately for dwarfs and hobbits, because they look really Gollum like.

I tried to order these with the coupon that Asmus sent me with Bard ($10 off next purchase)...says expired/already used. What gives? It is NOT expired (good until 12/31/16)...and I have NEVER ordered anything from Asmus...
