It is really nice for sure. Love the horse. Just wish he could stand.

What are you planning to do with the horse?

I'm both a statue and 1:6 collector. Statues are so easy compared to 1:6. I do have two of the Ringwraith on Steed PFs. I spent quite a bit of time
setting those up and smoothing out the robes but nothing compared to this guy.

Really hope they do a Mouth of Sauron. I'd love to plop him on top of one of these horses.

Well, fix the legs for one. Apparently putting a wedge between them for a few days to spread them out helps it stand. I'm not entirely certain what needs to be done to the horse but I plan to take it all apart -- the gear anyway -- and reassemble the way I like it. Probably add some more holes and weathering to the cloth "hood" and the spread under the saddle. And I will likely "tatter up" the mane and tail a bit with some uneven cuts. Oh, and muddy up the legs a bit more. I don't think I'll add any more 'wounds', although I've seen others do it and it looks great. Tempted to add the nails in the hooves.

I also want Mouth of Sauron very badly. But I think Asmus is pursuing more popular figures right now.

You need to get to the horse so I can see your results and pictures. I'm really curious to know what you end up doing with the legs. Especially if you're successful in getting him to stand better.

I also want to see the nails if you do them.

Mine has stood all night now without the stand and something shoved up high between the back legs. Still not sturdy enough for me to pose the front legs the way I want them though.

I do hope they get around to doing Mouth of Sauron. Too bad them seem to be focusing on The Hobbit figures at the moment. I really hope their bodies improve as well. As cheap as the Nazgul is, I'm still really happy someone is taking on these figures.

Waiting for wor-gar I touched up mine:
Good all weathering on clothes (cuts and dirt) and gear, some more dust on lower legs, more metal on mask and bites.

A couple of tips for who wants to undress the guy and remove batteries:
- garments on the head are glued to the bites (so there will be no problem putting them back) but you need to unglue something if you want to remove the cloth on the head WITHOUT removing the head itself.
- instructions for removing the head are not exactly clear so here's what to expect:
these are the plugs on the neck:

and these are their sockets on the head:

you'll need to pull HARD. Pay attention beacuse the block with the plugs will want to come out of the neck before the plugs will like to come out from their sockets.

The more I have played with this guy and got him to a place where I like his pose, I have to say I really dig this set. Here are a few pictures of mine. I have done zero modifications, just futzed with it a lot. I also got him to hold the sword they sent me pretty realistically in an open hand that also holds the reigns.

he looks great!! excellent work!!

Good work ! Looks really nice .

Thanks, guys. :)

Good job! :clap

Needs a wee bit of shaping, maybe some water treatment then just pull it in a bit more at the shoulders for some shape.

Thanks. I´ll give him a water treatment tomorrow I think, and maybe weather him up some more. That will hopefully tie everything together.

Very nice!

I like how fresh and clean he is right now. It's like his first day on the job. This is what the photo on his Mordor ID badge looks like! :lol

:lol

Question. How hard is it to take the horse's head off to put in the batteries? I am afraid to try. It looks like getting it off and on might risk all the buckles.

Buckles are not a problem, you can easily remove all the garments (but they'll remain attached to the head as they're glued on the mouth) and clothing. Tha hard part is pulling the head away from the posts...just look at my previous pics to see what to expect.

I recieved my replacement nazgul sword, after the first one arrived broken, only to find it doesn't fit in the scabbard! Only the witchking one does....

I figured it was the same on everyone's, just wondering why they'd make a sword that can't fit in the scabbard. Oh well, guess it'll be the witch king then!

I'm having a hell of a time making the black cloth look dirty like Thundercrackers.... basically did everything I planned, just can't seem to get a good picture of it...

Anyway, you can see the nails I added in the hooves... bloodied and muddied them to hell... also "browned" the mane a little bit, subtle but it shows in hand... added a few bloody nicks here and there (only where the felt was wearing or had ripped away)... added grime between the teeth... and trimmed the tail with jagged cuts so it doesn't look like a 'pretty-pony' doll (of course it doesn't show up either)... still gotta attack that mat under the saddle -- forgot it, and I'd like to add some foaming at the mouth, if I can figure out how to make foam.

It's raining here pretty bad today so maybe tomorrow I'll get better light to show off some highlights.

I gotta say though, I really love this horse! It's so awesome and loads of fun to work with. Always a blast to "mess" something up.

Question for everyone that got the combo. How long did it take to hear back from Asmus' customer service about the sword? I emailed them last week asking what I needed to send them in order to get it and I haven't heard back yet.
