Question for everyone that got the combo. How long did it take to hear back from Asmus' customer service about the sword? I emailed them last week asking what I needed to send them in order to get it and I haven't heard back yet.

I emailed them about two months ago, heard nothing, emailed a month ago, got an apology and... nothing. Time to email them again I guess.

I emailed them a few days after I got the set. They never responded, but A couple weeks later, I randomly got the sword in the mail.

I'm having a hell of a time making the black cloth look dirty like Thundercrackers.... basically did everything I planned, just can't seem to get a good picture of it...

Anyway, you can see the nails I added in the hooves... bloodied and muddied them to hell... also "browned" the mane a little bit, subtle but it shows in hand... added a few bloody nicks here and there (only where the felt was wearing or had ripped away)... added grime between the teeth... and trimmed the tail with jagged cuts so it doesn't look like a 'pretty-pony' doll (of course it doesn't show up either)... still gotta attack that mat under the saddle -- forgot it, and I'd like to add some foaming at the mouth, if I can figure out how to make foam.

It's raining here pretty bad today so maybe tomorrow I'll get better light to show off some highlights.

I gotta say though, I really love this horse! It's so awesome and loads of fun to work with. Always a blast to "mess" something up.
Tarzans grip actually foams in a sickly yellow, very small drops?

I contacted them via pm on Facebook took a couple of days to reply with a contact and was given email address to contact about a week later was sent tracking and package arrived 10 days later

After I asked for my sword, I never heard back -- meaning they didn't inform me that it shipped -- but I did get it within about two weeks.

Back to my Nazgul Steed -- hope this is the right thread for this -- dirtied up the saddle pad, re-trimmed and messed up tail some more and just general tweaking and futzing. He's done and ready for his rider...

This is the response I got when I messaged Asmus on Facebook:

Yes we do still offer the sword~
Please take a photo of your figures standing next to the authentication card, and leave me your postal address here,
and I will send you one ~

I responded a week ago, but I haven't received anything yet.

Very cool looking! Nails and blood are really nice touches!

Thank you. That shot in the movie with the nails sticking out of the hooves always stuck with me.

I just don't feel like I'm really "futzing" unless I do one 'extreme' thing.

Wor-Gar, how'd you manage to separate the hind legs and KEEP them separated?

Like everyone else, just wedged -- carefully as not to ruin the felt -- a bottle of aftershave and a hair gel bottle :)lol) between the legs overnight. I used a hairdryer to warm up the legs before. It widened them enough to find a stance where its stable. The legs want to go back to their default position so you may need to try this a time or two. I was also lucky enough to have all four hooves lay nearly flat -- which helps stability. But I do wish I could part these legs a little further so I know it won't fall over.

Here's another comp, see the pic in the middle -- that's about as far as the hooves will part on mine:

That's some nice work, Wor-Gar. Never noticed the nails in the hooves in the movie, but I can see a detail like that really sticking with you. Steed looks fantastic, now. Looking forward to some pictures with the rider.

I didn't do anything like that. I sent something to their contact page on their site asking about the extra sword. They responded back that they needed my name and address, country included. Mine was actually sent certified mail. It was bent to hell when I got it but it's reasonably straight now.

What info is everyone sending them? Address and copy of the receipt?

I initially emailed: [email protected] but it got forwarded to: [email protected]. I would email both addresses to be sure.

1. I told them when I received my package
2. what retailer I bought it from (BBTS)

and on mine, there is a sticker on both outer boxes, both horse and Black Rider of Mordor that say that each was part of a SET, it had a serial number on it

3. I offered to take a picture and send it to them of the set sticker or if they needed the numbers I could provide them
4. my name and mailing address

they sent me an email with tracking information. It was sent via with a tracking number and took a couple of weeks. It came in perfectly straight and it is a pretty cool sword (even though the pommel does not come off so the normal sword hands don't hold it - I managed to get a good look with an open hand holding both the reigns of the horse and the sword).
