I finally received my Asmus Nazgul this week.
Out of the box, it was basically as expected. I couldn't stand the seam on the hood, and some joints (shoulders, elbows) were a bit loose/floppy. My original intent was to replace the body, and make a new hood for him.
As soon as I had some time this Saturday, I stripped the body completely, to inspect how everything works. After tightening the screws on the body, most joints are actually nice and tight now, so I decided to keep the stock body on him afterall. I did remove the original wrist pegs and modified the forearms slightly to accept more sturdy hand pegs, so I can easily replace the hands now.
I left off the thigh, knee, and upper arm armor, as that's completely hidden anyway and would've just added unneeded bulk. I made him a new skirt using some black fabric I still had from an old project, to hide his legs some more, and shredded the original clothing a lot to make everything flow. Then I made a new hood as well, though I'm not completely satisfied with that, yet. Funnily enough, I made the new hood with that head replacement/shape in place, but decided to remove it, and the hood still sits nicely in shape, without anything holding it.
I already prefer him much more than out of the box, and didnt spend any additional money on him. I still have more plans for him, like weathering all the clothing and gear, but I'll do that another time.
For now, here's what he looks like, unweathered and without water treating him.

Yeah they are sending me a sword despite me telling them I bought new via a collector and not retail, I did send proof I had one though, great customer service!

it's been twice I've had to email about that sword, and I have had a response, but... that was a while ago and I'm having to chase it up a third time. Not too fussed, but it'd be nice to have it sorted out.

Well, it took me over 2 hours of spraying the Nazgul to get his robes looking smooth. Trying to play with the hood with all the product they put it was a lot of work and I'm still not overly happy with it.

Nazgul is extremely cheap. One foot was off when I opened it as expected. I was extremely careful with it and still the armor on the top of the foot fell off. I'll glue it back on.

It's a nice figure for sure when all set up. Too bad I have to have something shoved up between the Horses back legs in order to get him to stand.

I hate the stand. Completely useless. Not using it.

Still, I was expecting all this so I wasn't angry at any point. Looks nice. Glad I picked it up.

It is a lot of work if you don't usually like that sort of thing. I do a lot of customizing and bashing myself so I enjoy the process -- but it can be daunting and time consuming. For instance, I still haven't gotten to my Steed yet and I've had this set for over two months. Just no time to sit with it.

I do believe this will be one of those pieces that a year from now -- or five years from now -- will remain one of the outstanding pieces in people's 1/6th collections. If you can get it to your liking, it is simply striking... and impressive in size.
