okay, I feel kind of dumb asking this, but after stumbling around in the menus I can't find anything. I got the game from gamestop and got a bonus "mayan level" - how in the hell do I play that level to get the special sword or do I have to finish the game first? Does anybody know?

You have to go to a harbormaster and on the map near México is the mission for the Mayan ruins.

That sounds cool. Is there a special adapter that allow you to do that? Sorry it's been years since I played video games so I dont know a lot of the tricks.

yeaa there is a special adapter I bought on ebay for it.
I watched a youtube video and they showed me wich one to get or you can hook up regular wired controler if you dont want to spend the extra $$$

it works perfect man.

That sword is awesome! Ideally I would prefer to use the tomahawk for the whole game just to fit in with the theme but the sword just seems so much more devastating.

well I am going tomorrow to trade my ps3 version for a PC version.
this game looks so bad on consoles.
tomorrow I will start AC3 The Way It's Meant to be Played!
GO GTX 580 POWER !!

just got back from ebgames with a fresh pc copy of the game.
now I will start the game The Way It's Meant to be Played.
love how I can hook up my wireless xbox 360 controler to my pc.
I am sure for GTA 5 I will be getting pc version for sure.

omg ! AC3 running on directx 11 looks unreal.
got all the graphics on all of them and the game is running at 90frames steady. jesus this looks amazing.

glad I got the pc version. puts the console version to shame.

We get it dude, you and your computer have giant epeens. :monkey4

I will be renting this through gamefly once I'm done with Hitman. I am looking forward to it. I haven't played any of the others. Will that matter?

You probably should just watch the endings of AC, ACII, Brotherhood and Revelations.

Well...I was going to buy this game almost 2 weeks ago but the employee at GameStop talked me into buying "Dishonored". I hate this game even after putting in about 4 hours. I can't even play it anymore it is so boring. I'm bringing it back to GameStop and hopefully they will let me turn the game in for some kind of credit towards Assassin's Creed III.
Never again will I let anyone talk me into a game that they like...what an as*hole. He even said ACIII sucks in every way. I highly doubt that.
Assassin's Creed part II, Brotherhood, and Revelations were IMO amazing...I can see ACIII being a lot different but still I doubt this game sucks. It has to be much better than that "Dishonored" crap game. The day after Thanksgiving (technically tomorrow) I will be getting ACIII.
This is the game I should have bought to begin with.

I wouldnt get your hopes up too much for AC3. Some people seem to love it and some people find it unplayable. Im one of thoes. And i loved the Ezio trilogy and wanted to see how this one went. I just think the settings are so bland, the story is so bland, there is no characters i like especially not the main characters. Im on 24 hours of gameplay and i dont think ive did anything. It almost feels like the entire game is just to build up your skills as a tutorial so you can free roam in the game with no goal other than to just have mindless "fun".

Eff that, you'll love ACIII, especially if you liked Revelations (which is still the second worst AC game imo). I love Connor and the story is pretty enjoyable once he is introduced. The naval missions are a great addition. The combat system is so fun and the animations are stunning to watch. I've beaten the game a while ago and I'm still playing 34 hours into it doing the end of the side missions and homestead missions. Then I plan to play it again the way I want to play it since the first play-through I got all 100 syncs. ACII, ACIII and Brotherhood are the best IMO.

Would I enjoy this game if this is my first ever AC game? Or should I start with the games in order? The native american theme is the main thing luring me to want to purchase this as my first.

I couldn't get into Dishonored either but am loving AC3.

I don't know how its possible to find it 'unplayable'. If your 24 hours in then there is obviously something to it.

How can you love the Ezio trilogy and hate this? They are very similar games in terms of gameplay and setup.
I can definitely understand liking Ezio as a character better and/or liking that setting better.....but the story itself is so much better and so much more well told than anything in any of the Ezio games...and by a wide margin IMO

The same criticsms I have about AC3 I have about all the AC games. Namely the fighting mechanics are waaaaaaaaaay too simple. Why bother sneaking at all when right from the start of the game you can massacre an army with the ability to instantly counter anything. And The combat actually seems a step back in complexity from AC2:R.

I also don't understand why the costume changes you make don't reflect in the cut scenes which is just annoying considering they had that down as far back as AC2. ....and also that you can really change/update your costume much, which I enjoyed doing with Ezio.

On the upside, the naval missions are amazing. I want a whole pirates game based on that.
And the frontier is awesome. Especially when it snows. Changing seasons are awesome and by far the best winter I've ever seen in a game. Puts Skyrim to shame.

To each their own I guess.

Yes, its my friend prodding me on to do it because its his game he borrowed me and he is wanting me to complete it. Despite me telling him numerous times i just cant!

I just really dont like it. You dont need to agree that i dont like it or the reasons i dont like it. But its whats in my head. Ive played 24 hours of it, and the previous 4 games ( and Liked! them)

It is what it is. I tried
