I do agree that no matter what Cap's AoU suit is an enormous step up from his Avengers 1 costume and that depending on how they film it it could look quite cool.

In this pic for instance where you don't notice the extra unnecessary red highlights it looks pretty sweet:

Where a similar shot that shows the red more doesn't look as good:

We'll obviously see how it looks in the final film. There's definitely some potential there but the Stealth suit looked awesome from pretty much all angles in all lighting conditions.

The more I see the suit, the more I like it. Yes, parts of it do look overly "busy", but it takes what was best about the STRIKE suit from 'Winter Soldier' as well as the colors from the traditional Cap suit and puts them together for a tremendously better update than what we got in "The Avengers". It also looks more functionally realistic with the line-work as "kevlar padding". The dark blue also tones it down a little bit more and like jye commented before, I'm sure when we see it in motion it'll look much better. Cap actually looks more muscular in it (probably thanks to Evans' bigger form AND the fact that there's extra padding in the suit to beef him up more a la "the Winter Soldier") unlike the Avengers' outfit which was a little too snug.

This is a great translation of a suit looking good both in concept design and actual work...while the "Avengers" Cap looked great in the concept design but didn't live up to expectations when it was actually made and worn in the film. With how awesome it looks in these candid shots it makes me more excited to see it on the big screen.....and on the Hot Toys Avengers 2 Cap figure of course. :)

I think it will be on each of those things that once you see it live rather than still images your eyes will see it as a more coherent blend.

Hopefully JW carries over his fast and brutal fighting style from Cap 2.

Me too. I'm a little worried after seeing Cap's fighting style in TWS, that his fight scenes could seem jarring if they're not similar from flick to flick. TWS definitely defined Cap's style of badassery imo.

They brought the fight coordinator from TWS on board. Im sure everyone's fight scenes are gonna be top notch

I want top billing, but yeah... NILDICK
It suits you :lol :1-1:

extra unnecessary red highlights
Also new Black Widow's costume suffers the same.
I'll just stick with "Tiny Stork from IM3 designed it, no wonder" mentality and move on

Yeah, that's a must.
Tho I doubt it since they will fight against non-human beings again.

As long as they don't revert back to his crappy cgi jumps from Avengers.

Yes, I just said something bad about Avengers.

Its still better than DOFP (no reason for me to go there was it).

Love the Avengers but what they did with Cap was a little sad, everytime hes freaking jumping, looking for shield secrets? Jumping. Dodging bullets? Jumping. Getting rained on by aliens? Jumping. Alien bomb blowing up? Jumping. >_< cmon Joss, we know Cap isnt ur fav but dnt make it that noticeable :lol

Yeah, Cap will most likely be the butt of more "fish out of water" jokes while IM is the main hero again. Can't wait for Cap 3 where he'll get to be badass again. Of course I'd love to be proven wrong when AoU comes out but I'm not getting my hopes up.

I'd also like to see his shield highlighted as what it is. A chunk of the baddest metal around. When Bucky winged that thing and was sticking it in walls there was palpable dread that Cap may get decapitated. Now, obviously that's not going to happen to anyone, but I like how TWS made the shield seem like a real weapon and not just 'something cool' hanging on his arm.

I dunno. I can see Stark getting phased out by this one and Cap stealing the spotlight.

It came close to happening in Avengers. The bulk of the deleted scenes? Cap stuff. I could see this one being "his". The guy that undeniably gets the short end of the stick in these ensemble flicks is Thor.

I think the first AoU trailer will probably indicate who will be top dog this time around. The first Avengers trailer made it look like "Iron Man and Friends" and that's pretty much what it turned out to be.

And I agree about Thor. Of the "big four" he really is the afterthought of the group. He clearly could have singlehandedly stopped the entire Chitauri invasion by just electrocuting all invaders as they came through the portal and then flying up through the portal to destroy the mothership himself. But Joss thought it would be more fun for him to stupidly hit individual foot soldiers with his hammer one at a time and be the butt of more Hulk punching jokes.

Believe it or not I'm not really bitter about Joss playing favorites with the Avengers, especially since his success with that film encouraged Disney to bolster the budget of TWS. So he can do what he wants with Cap and the others as long as it leads to sweet solo films later on. I'd prefer him to not downgrade each character's costume and make half of them buffoons but I guess there are more important things to get worked up about.

Newz:

Yesterday I spent time with Andy Serkis at the Alamo Drafthouse's Dawn of the Planet of the Apes event... which unfortunately just wasn't the right place to ask him about the breaking news that he was playing some sort of role in The Avengers: Age of Ultron.

We knew that Serkis was involved in The Avengers through his consulting company, The Imaginarium, which works with actors doing performance capture, and that's part of why he's on set. He's been working with Mark Ruffalo as he reprises his role of The Hulk.

Performance capture was used on the previous “Hulk,” but not to the same extent Mark is using it now. There are tools and ways of working with an actor that makes them feel that they own the character. And a character the size of the Hulk needs ownership, which Mark has now.

But more than that, Serkis is playing a role in the movie. What role? He won't say - he won't even say if it's a performance capture part or if he'll be seen directly onscreen. There are a lot of performance capture opportunities in The Avengers, as Ultron creates an army of robots to battle the Avengers, but it's possible that Serkis just shows up in a cute cameo that means nothing.

His work in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is extraordinary; he and the animators at WETA have together created a new version of Caesar that is realer-than-real - he's just a character who exists and acts and is totally, completely believable.

I hope he's on screen as himself. He's amazing with the performance capture but I'd like to see him get some love on screen.
