Everythink looks OK so far. Is the mask relatively free from damage because one of the earlier figures had the battle damaged mask as an exclusive or something?

Not as good as perhaps it could have been but not as bad as we feared either. I'll probably get it. Just not sure what I'll do with the clean version if I do. I'm curious how it'd look on my shelf using the shield from this but ultimately, in the broader context of what I have, probably not worth keeping just for that.

it isnt a surprise because someone mentioned this years ago when this was at its first comic con, but the back is barely damaged at all. its just a bit odd I guess.

Thinking the same, plus the negatives aren’t so apparent if you pose it the way 80% of the folks will.. I’m tempted to use the dual cannons with the starfish for maximum firepower on the clean version.

The gorgeous looking final product, I am very tempted to buy it but I will most likely just keep the clean Mark 85 as planned and enjoy this one from afar. GZ to anyone who is getting it.

The clean back is somehow explainable I guess. But what annoys me the most is the clean front lower torso staring you in the face.

It's almost as if the designer for the chest didn't speak with the guy designing the lower abdomen piece. Definitely will need to dirty that up a bit with some Tamiya weathering pastels.

I mean look at it !

But otherwise a stellar figure !!

Aaarrgh. There, again, much more of a slope to the shoulders than on the Hot Toys figure. Even the oft-criticized Mark 50 figure got that right.

HT definitely miss the trap muscle area a lot, don't they? Never skip leg day and never skip shoulder shrugs...
I'm a dweeb and I'd swear I've got more pronounced traps than some of their figures portray on Captain America and Iron Man :lol

.....actually on me it's probably just bad posture giving a false impression :monkey3

From the movie, there’s no battle damage in the front lower torso. What’s HT to do?
I think the main issue is the showroom glossiness. It's harder to see in the abdomen area on the screen grab, but if you look at the chest area, you can see more dirt/grime over the armor. There's a jarring difference when a section of the suit is covered in grime and battle damaged and another section right next to it looks like it just came off the showroom floor. The super candy red glossiness is default Hot Toys iron man paint, but they could have toned it down a bit on this one.

People complaining about lack of dirt and grime.

Touch your figure after working the garden or changing oil in your car.

Problem solved.

Why even have a figure at all? Just take a screen shot of Stark, print it out, and hang it in your cabinet. ;)

Overall, happy with the figure from the videos I am seeing. My expectations were sky high, and they were mostly met. The headsculpt is very good (not perfect), but a galaxy ahead of the original 85 sculpt. I still don't know who signed off on that.

If I could be disciplined like that with all my collectibles I'd probably be retired now :)

Like someone had mentioned earlier, I really don’t think expectations on this particular figure were going to be met regardless of what HT did.

It looks pretty bangin’ to me in the review video a few posts above. Sure some areas for improvement, but I don’t think those are the kinda minute details HT would do and would need to be done via customization; their BD effects have a history of being mild. The Stark sculpt I think is amazing, and the clean helmet on the BD body looks funny. :lol

Since it already comes with a fixed relaxed and snapping stone hand, the only thing I could think that the one with the articulated fingers could be used for is him flipping off Thanos, just before snapping.

Can both arms be pulled off though? Or just one?
