Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Well like I told my wife had it been Captain Marvel the fan base would’ve went nuclear that she’s the one to kill Thanos rightly so I might add.

But plot wise they need a better reason than that lol

Well if Steve survived then he was one of the men he saved. The man who would become Peggy's husband. :)

Yup , you got it.....Steve DID save himself. (At the End of Endgame)

I gotta say, the one person I feel the worst for is Sharon Carter... Would have loved to see some resolution there

Yeah, funny.. I thought the same thing. They even used her in Civil War poster marketing when for some reason they left out Scarlet Witch. Just about every other minor character still living got some sort of mention or screen time.

I was rather surprised that there was no sign of her whatsoever in either IW or Endgame, especially given that she was introduced in the 1st Russo brother movie (TWS) and played a somewhat significant role in their 2nd (CW). I suppose we should assume she was snapped, but even so it would have been nice to see her at the end. She could have been with Old Man Steve in a mid-credits scene, incredulously asking him "You did WHAT???". :lol

Wow. I see that after I left the discussion yesterday, everyone turned it up to 11 on the Cap/Peggy timeline debate. I retract my post from yesterday - Khev and I are definitely not the only ones overthinking it! :lol

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Is it official can we spoiler talk yet?

Saw the film i prefer IW. I loved the last hour easily the best third act in superhero history the first 2 hours not so much. That scene at the end where they where running that item reminded me of the Steppenwolf sequence in Themyscyra.
Oh, It did not need 3 hours it was bloated it felt like a greatest hit is some places and too much fan service in others like they were advertising their upcoming characters.

Avengers 1 and infinity war are still the best in my opinion. Clear story line good pacing. Marvel movies always feel like they include advertising for other franchises in other movies.

Stark needed to do the snap (with the stones affixed to his own suit) to justify his paranoia and mistakes he'd made since 2012. It would have been wrong for it to be anyone but him.

Hopefully no one is peaking into this thread the fifth day that it's been in wide release now because I think the time for spoiler tags has passed (and open spoilers have been posted since at least yesterday anyway.)

That said possibly the most heartbreaking moment in the film was Clint and Natasha's battling each other to prevent the other person's suicide. Ugh. Especially since I knew that I couldn't root for either and that one of them would inevitably win. HE got a *huge* boost in likability in this movie after the gut punch opening scene and giving it all he had to save Widow.

Just know that Universal will now sell Hulk back to Marvel at a great cost I might add.

I think a solo Hulk movie will be part of phase 4.

I can understand people ranking The Avengers, TWS, and IW higher than AEG. The former three had lean narratives with minimal fat (even IW, wtf, lol). AEG might have crossed over into ROTK bloat from time to time. But I don't care. The highs in this film were higher than any cbm in history, bring on the 4 hour cut, lol.

Agreed. If this is going to be the last of the 2 greatest characters in this franchise, then you make it as long as you want. I will enjoy every minute of it.

Disney to Universal: "We buy the Hulk or we buy YOU. Do you like being studio executives? Because technically we don't actually need any more..."

Universal: *gulp*

For me, it didn't feel too long, or too slow or bloated. The 'downtime' went a long way to adding depth and emotional weight to the film.

I actually liked TIH. Just not the 3rd act, but many Marvel films have a 3rd act problem.

But not Endgame. :lecture

Me as well. I also love ROTK, lol. So what others call "bloat" I call "bursting at the seams with awesomeness," lol. I can't think of a single scene that I would have cut out of this movie. And I'm sure a simple five extra minutes of Hulk kicking ass at the end would have made this damn near perfect for almost everyone.

Yeah man that was a great scene.

If all that bloat ends with Cap on a battlefield sternly staring and pointing forward with a straight arm and open palm and saying Avengers Assemble then by all means bloat away lol

I don’t think many know that the scar Abomination left hulk on his left chest is still there.

The Hulk ride at islands of adventure is one of the greatest!!

Random thoughts...

I did love her sultry black eyeliner eyes when she was looking up at Thanos lol

I do think it was a mistake to play that rock song over the marvel logo they should’ve just left it with the thunder sound from the snap.

I really love fat buff Thor in costume I thought he looked great lol

Yeah I'd actually be tempted to get a fat armored Thor HT figure, lol.

As for CM I actually thought that her prettiest look was also her briefest: Her appearance to the Avengers in the CM post credit scene and then at the beginning of AEG. She looks good with long non-wavy hair.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

"Endgame does not have a 3rd act problem" might just be one of the greatest understatements of all time, lol.

Especially since it didn’t have the ghost calvary riding in to save the day.

Dude when Doctor Strange looked at Stark and pointed his finger straight up as in THIS IS IT, This is THE 1 out of 14 million without actually saying it my jaw was on the ground.

Yup these aren’t the 3rd act problems you’re looking for move along lol

His braided beard was soooo bad ass!

The only time this character has impressed me was when Thanos tried to headbutt her with no effect. It was a very cool superhero moment which I enjoyed as much as I enjoyed him knocking her out. It was a good, balanced way of showing she's a total beast but this wasn't her moment.

I actually liked the song -- it started the film on a wistful, sort of resigned and very human, grounded note.

I loved it when Peter activated Instant Kill -- that suit setting *finally* made sense. :lol

Yeah ROTK and TDKR was bloated and from that experience I knew this movie would feel they same, I guess this is the marvel movie formula and I should not expect it to change i really hate how it felt like a highlight reel in some places and then a preview of what's to come in others it feels like and advertisement . And the idea of gauntlet was getting abused ala reverse the world superman style. Dues ex machina to the max
