Seriously though can you imagine if Jackman Wolverine came tearing into IW2 *in costume!?!?!?*

They can just say he's a different Wolverine (like Holland was different than all the Sony Spideys) who just happens to be played by the same actor. I'd take it!

Or if they did an alternate reality crossover or something, so that'd acknowledge the Fox-men universe as technically existing parallel to the MCU...although why wouldn't there still be versions of the X-men already existing in the MCU-verse...I....I dunno.

The other question is, OK, say he is coming back to play Wolverine in the MCU - for how long though? A big part of why he wanted to stop playing Wolverine in the first place was because he felt he was getting too old to be keeping up that muscle-building diet and workout routine.

It would be very big and very interesting news that's for sure.

Don't get your hopes up -- it's probably related to The Greatest Showman, be it a sequel or Broadway show announcement of some sort.

I thought he made it clear that the Logan/Wolverine ship has sailed and he wants to move on.

That was true but I think chronologically the Disney/Fox thing came after that and he had in the past fantasized about his Wolverine being in the MCU with Hulk...or am I remembering wrong?

a-dev is right he was done as far as Fox was concerned but he pushed really hard to end it in the MCU and not in Logan so now that it can happen I can TOTALLY see that 25 million being hard to pass up!

I read an interesting theory where they may cast a new actor to play the MCU Wolverine, but have Hugh play an alternate universe version of him akin to Old Man Logan. That could work.
