So they could cameo in every film holding the d.c. universe together? D.C. version of the watchers

Re: Untitled 4th Avengers film (May 3rd, 2019)

Wow, just watched some of Aquaman's final trailer. Looks like they are recycling the same "Norway" cliff-side featured in Thor Ragnarok, lol.

Re: Untitled 4th Avengers film (May 3rd, 2019)

Ok... Got some time to post some thoughts on Khev's revelation :)

Okay after chatting about it here I went ahead and watched the original Avengers on blu from beginning to end for the first time since before TWS. Wow, yeah my criticisms were totally off base, lol

I freaking loved it. :lol

YES!!! Welcome to the club!!!!

I was braced for Cap's dumb uniform but it didn't ruin the flick and he didn't even wear the goofy cowl for that much of the run time.

Yeah he runs around a lot without it on. It is a bad helmet though and I can fully understand the difficulty getting over it and why it sticks out so much in your memory.

The movie just had a great vibe from beginning to end.

Its what I love about the film. A great vibe with great pacing. The film flies by for me.

*Loved* all the seeds of future developments! Seeds of Civil War with Steve and Tony squaring off against each other on the helicarrier, seeds of IW with the Chitauri invasion and constant references to the one who was really pulling the strings (and obviously Thanos himself at the very end.) Even little things like Loki asking Thor if he'd ever not fall for the hologram trick which would have a huge payoff in Ragnarok. After Russo-ized BW you really know that her Russian interrogators are toast right from the get go in her opening scene, lol. Even just hearing Vision's voice as Jarvis, holy hell the amount of seeds that played to full fruition later on. Really unbelievable.

I am never as effected by these moments as you and others are.. But they are cool.
And that's *just* the universe building aspects of the film because the movie itself was still great as a self-contained story with tons of satisfying arcs. I had forgotten a lot of the great little moments like Hulk trying to pick up Thor's hammer, Tony's line about pissing off one last guy "his name was Phil," and all the Chitauri ganging up on Hulk to blast him with like 20 chariots at once. "Galaga" was still hilarious, lol.

IMO it is the winner of all marvel movies for individual great moments.

I like CA:WS and IW better but A1 is just ripe with wonderful moments.

The visuals still hold up as if it were a 2018 film and the score is one of the MCU's best. I feel really stupid typing all this out so I'll just stop and close with "I stand corrected" on dismissing this movie these past few years, lol.

Great call on the FX. Some of Marvels best IMO and the film score is The Best of the series IMO. At least the theme is :)

So glad you enjoyed it. I thought it was strange to hold a Helmet against the film like you did :lol

It does have a bit of "TV" show feel to it. I think some of that has to do with it being 1:85 aspect ratio instead of the more panoramic 2:35 ratio.

Are you sure you are not say you liked it just so you don't have to argue with me anymore :lol :lol

Despite being top five in the MCU and lightning in a bottle, little things that bother me in A1:

Cap looking like a cosplayer at comic con in that suit :chase
Cap pretending to have a radio in his ear to communicate with Stark (it's not there, I've looked :lol)
Tesseract able to grant mind control powers by tapping on the chest
Mind control powers gone by simple knock to the head
Black Widow able to master alien weapons within seconds of use

Umm there's probably more but I feel jye's eyes on me. :lol

Oh you just had to press the Jahns button didn't you? :gah:

Thanks! Lol, yeah the MCU just got a whole lot better. IM1, A1, Cap Trilogy, IW plus all the "fun" flicks like Ragnarok, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Spider-Man: Homecoming, etc. AOU definitely felt much weaker in retrospect after watching the original from beginning to end the other day, lol.

Yeah he runs around a lot without it on. It is a bad helmet though and I can fully understand the difficulty getting over it and why it sticks out so much in your memory.

Yeah I definitely had "Cowl Derangement Syndrome." :lol Part of the reason is that whenever A1 has been on TV over the years I *always* seem to turn it on right as the Stutgard scene begins with Cap looking like a doofus and then it usually cuts to commercial right after that making me go "okay I'm out" lol.

Its what I love about the film. A great vibe with great pacing. The film flies by for me.

I did still chuckle at telling Thor to "put the hammer down" being a literal *murderable* offense considering he had absolutely no idea that Cap's shield could withstand his attack, lol

I get the "TV show" criticisms with regard to the lighting and what not but I actually love that the action fills the entire screen at home. *So* pissed that IW had the same aspect ratio and yet they letterboxed it for home release. :gah:

Are you sure you are not say you liked it just so you don't have to argue with me anymore :lol :lol

You got me, lol. ;)

I should have caught it on 15/70 IMAX when it was back in theaters in August/September. Ah well. Still haven't seen this rumored "3D version" I keep hearing about, lol.

Re: Untitled 4th Avengers film (May 3rd, 2019)

Earlier today I was looking through the Blu-ray section at Best Buy and nearly chewed my nails off trying to resist getting the exclusive 4K steelbook of A1 even though I don't own a 4K TV. :lol
