Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

JAWS I know we’re dumping all the blame on the Russo’s but I really wouldn’t count out Universal being the main reason behind Hulk’s lack of screen time as the monster, Ruffalo has bitched about them in the past remember that.

I have a feeling that legally too much for him to do that as the “rage Hulk” written in the script might be a contract violation you know how everything in Hollywood is based on % of use and exposure and maybe rage Hulk is the core version of the character that Universal holds the rights for.

Apologize to the Russo’s you have been very mean lol

So one of the Russo brothers (Joe) had a Q+A in China discussing the plot of Endgame, shown here: https://www.reddit.com/r/marvelstud...russos_qa_about_the_plot_of_avengers_endgame/

To summarise (thanks to a post by Mikeyer in the replies):
Iron Man had to be the one to snap Thanos' army, as per Dr. Strange's winning vision. Stark had to be sacrificed as part of Strange's vision - no using the time stone to bring him back (like Vision by Thanos)
Cap living out his life happened in an alternative reality, and there was another Cap in the same timeline. Cap travelled back to the main timeline after living out his life.
Thor's weight and Cap's ageing was mostly CG. Cap's voice 100% Evans
Black Widow is gone forever. No return of the soul after the soul stone is put back.
Most likely no fight between Cap & Red Skull on soul stone return - Red Skull more of a ghost, almost a completely different entity.
Maw & Thanos most likely reverse engineered the Pym particles to bring the ship and army through the pad at Avenger's HQ
Parker and classmates of the same age were dusted, survivors would be 5 years older
Yes, the mouse saved the universe. Strange's views into the alternate futures were defeats if the mouse didn't step on the button
Iron Man hammer sound ending the film was a Russo tribute to him and to say goodbye, not an implication of return. No body at funeral, "who knows" if he will appear again in the future. Harley Keener at funeral as the Russos felt "that he should participate in Iron Man's funeral"
No one is saying Nat didn't get a funeral. Closest we'll get in this story is the scene by the lake.
Does help to answer some questions about what Cap did at the end, essentially him going back to be with Peggy created an alternate universe separate from the main one. Once he was done living his life there, he went back to the main one and the alternate one continued without him (and with that universes Cap coming out of the ice I assume). How he didn't appear in the machine I don't know, guess it was just for dramatic effect.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

also saw this on the subject of bringing black widow back :horror:dunno:lol

Mr Pigeon said: ↑
What if they go back in time to save Black Widow but then immediately go forwards in time to use the time stone to reverse time far back enough to before Red Skull ended up there and then as soon as he arrives take him back in time to when he was still alive and shoot him. Then when he's dying you leave the ghost version in the past but take the dying real one forward in time back to where Gamora died and take her as well, swap her for Black Widow and swap ghost Skull for the dying one, then take ghost Skull and Gamora forward in time to the point where Cap brought the stone back and swap old ghost skull with the new one, then go back and pick up Black Widow a second before where you originally saved her? You all know that would definitely work, and it's pretty damn easy to follow.
:confused::confused::lol::lol::lol:

:exactly:

If it wasn’t for Spidey and maybe FF and X-men, and the comedy of Ant-Man , I think I would give up on the MCU

I really think Disney is going to ruin Deadpool

Just like I almost have given up on the DCEU if it wasn’t for WW

Sooo....what you're saying is...they still have your money. :lol

As a collector and long time comic book fan, it’s something I can’t give up in a movie theme. The only thing that can truly make me stop cold with the MCU , is if they stop doing Spidey movies since he is one of my favorite marvel heroes . Spider-man ( other than maybe X-men ) is probably the best Marvel franchise to tackle just for the villains alone. :lecture

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Make no mistake about it who are we kidding every single one of us geeks will be there opening night for the MCU version of X-Men and F4 we’ve been waiting for that for a very very long time but also make no mistake about it the general public is not invested in them as they were with phase 1/2/3 so sorry folks don’t expect 357 million opening weekend for X-Men and F4 ain’t happening especially since we have been watching these groups of characters under the Fox banner for 19 years so it’s not like we’ve never seen them before on the big screen.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

As has already been mentioned the Russos relented to Hemsworth's request to portray him more like his Ragnarok incarnation for his final outing with the full Avengers team.

So IW = Russo Thor
AEG = Hemsworth Thor

There is zero wrong with Thor in EG the guy looked bad ass even portly and that braided beard was awesome plus his acting is very good everyone wants a fat Thor figure. :lol

Listen when Wor-Gar wants a product from a movie you know it’s something special lol

Spidey is my earliest superhero memory. I had a Mego Spidey when I was *very* young, along with his car(!) -- I would watch reruns of the '60s cartoon, and later on Spider-Man And His Amazing Friends. The latter series began in 1981, I think alongside another solo series that I have only vague memories of, probably because it got conflated in my mind with the '60s cartoon.

I read his strip in the newspaper and eventually found the comic books. Now as an adult I feel like I've outgrown the comics for the most part but I'm all over any cinematic appearances.

Other than Spidey my earliest superhero memories follow a similar pattern but concern Superman, Batman, The Superfriends etc.

It's going to be very interesting to see how they approach X-Men & F4. I imagine that it will have to be similar to how they integrated Spidey, as I doubt there will be much appetite for a 3rd F4 origin story or a 2nd (or would it be a 3rd counting First Class?) for X-Men. And that goes with the villains as well. As much as we're all anxious to see Dr. Doom and Galactus done right by Marvel, I would expect they'd want to start off with another F4 foe before rehashing those characters. Not sure who that would be though...

Hmm don’t forget that Wolverines casting is going to be a huge popular marketing event for Marvel his casting has become as big as Batman which is amazing when you think about it so they got that going for them to help kick things off.

Regarding EG I know now that less than a week from release I am fully content with the movie especially with Cap’s ending now that I have convinced myself the Skrulls are involved (Siri spelled Skrulls as Squirrels lol).

I’ve also made peace with the Hulk situation because I have also convinced myself that Universal was behind it so I can now check that one off.

AND I have also made peace with Bucky and Cap’s shield because I love the explanation that has been given here in the forum of them having a prior discussion about it and because the scene was handled very respectfully.

This is how one remains in team Khev lol

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

RDJ drove the MCU and helped establish it. Losing him is a blow but it's now an established pop-cultural phenomenon. In order to move it forward, they're going to need some seriously bankable talent, but I think they have enough pull (and money) to get it at this point, so there's definitely a future for the MCU.

The rest will come down to writing entertaining stories. Has it peaked with Endgame? Probably for the foreseeable future, but you can't underestimate the popularity of Spider-Man and Black Panther.

The Black Widow solo film is a wild card in terms of the general public, but Ms. Johansson has plenty of mainstream fans.

It depends on X-men with me . What team is actually going to be assembled for the MCU . As for the FF, I hope they completely redo it for the MCU. I thought the recent FF was good but a little too overkill in the PC making Johnny a black guy. Hard to believe that was the dude that played Killmonger :lecture

Hard to believe in the Alba FF, Evans of all people was the Human Torch :lol

I think the biggest transformation from actors switching comic book heroes to this day has still got to be Affleck as DD then Batman and Reynolds from GL to DP :horror

I’m happy you brought up BP cause it got me thinking, JAWS listen to this, BP is their billion dollar sweetheart and their highest domestic earner that is until EG passes it obviously but think about it he was given almost nothing to do in both movies and he’s their money maker!!!

So if BP was given nothing to do it’s really not surprising that Hulk was given even less to do!

Sure in EG BP was given that cool yet quick scene of him running with the gauntlet but it was over before you blinked twice lol

I thought BP was shafted in IW and even in his own movie I love the character’s physical abilities as much as Hulk’s so it was a shame seeing him only properly showcased in CW!

His EG scene was cool though but damn was it over quick lol

Holy crap being reported that RDJ earned 75 million JUST FOR IW!

I always thought his contract was 80 million but for multiple movies but that was just for IW!!!! :thud:

5 million for Spiderman Homecoming and close to 100 million for EG!!!

Scarjo’s, Evans and Hemsworth 20-25 million seems so......well lame lol

And yes good point about BP. He had a sweet scene in EG but man was it quick. You're also correct about FF and X-Men MCU. Sure EG is the big "jumping off point" for all this hype and avoiding spoiler anxiety but there's so damn much goodwill now who am I kidding I won't skip a single one of those upcoming films on the big screen nor will I likely miss any of the Disney + follow-ups.

Winter Soldier and the Falcon show went from "huh..?" to "when!" lol

As for the Hulk he was like BW in this movie. Everyone returns to the forum with fan service for their favorite superhero but then JAWS comes out of the portal alone. We're all laughing and high fiving and then "wait, JAWS...what about the Hulk? JAWS???" "He...he didn't make it...."

But one or two awesome kick-ass Hulk flicks in this same continuity should make up for it. Do I care about Cap's A1 cowl now, hell no, lol.

Yep fat Thor was awesome especially since he still kicked ass as a fattie, lol. A huge subversion of expectations that he stayed fat after powering up with the lightning. That's how you do it RJ, lol.

Dude Mandalorian and Winter Soldier series :drool i’ll finally care about tv again (GOT yuck, LOTR > GOT).

I still can’t believe we saw a TWS/CW fight style while wearing his A1 costume holy redemption lol

It was like he was fighting the ghost of Bucky all over again!

His style in A1 is really too slow and clumsy for my tastes. Not horribly embarrassing but not TWS/CW either.

Ughh him on the A1 Hellicarrier no thanks lol

I still think JAWS is too harsh on AOU there are good Hulk moments in there he’s just being too picky now lol

JAWS is looking for massive destruction like this:
