Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

BP is one of those heroes IMO that the acting talent has to be a key factor because the lineup of villains established in the original comics is very minimal

That’s why RDJ was pivotal to the MCU, because IM had the same handicap of villains in the comics that he made IM stand out as the key character whoever was the supporting cast.

I think they are on the right track with Holland as Spidey , but I’m afraid there will be a point of saturation where Spidey has to “ grow up “ so to speak , like in the comics and be an adult.

So that’s when I have to see how talented Holland can be as an actor in the MCU. :lecture

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Can the MCU keep the momentum in phase 4 without RDJ and Evans . I think this will be a challenge for Feige :panic:

We all know there would be no MCU as we know it today without RDJ's performance in the original iron man (and of course in all the subsequent movies). RDJ isn't "acting" as Tony Stark, that's just the man's personality and it works perfectly in the role... he own's it. While RDJ has been the nucleus of the franchise from day 1, Chris Evans grew into the role of Captain America. He owned it in A1 and WS and just kept getting better in all subsequent movies.

I'm very worried about P4. I think they tried handing the baton from RDJ IM to CM to be the new nucleus and it won't work. They need to find someone who can be the new "Tony" and without it the MCU will need to change big time. question is will it be for better or much much worse :dunno

EDIT: There is 1 character who (if cast correctly) can be the new nucleus... Wolverine

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I like the concept of Tony’s daughter of possibly copying the Ironheart character in the comics , but in today’s Hollywood if they go that direction I hope the theme of SJW won’t ruin the character .

That’s why RDJ will be greatly missed :thud:

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I'm really glad that apart from Banner and Rhodie they're keeping these characters connected to the actors who played them. I much prefer Steve and Tony passing the torch/shield rather than simply "James Bonding" the characters to different actors like WB and Sony have done with their main heroes every couple of years.

That theory would never work and Feige should know better if this was the intent. Because IM will always be more recognized in the comics more than CM ever was.

I know GOTG is a fan favorite to the MCU but I feel they in the comics, are still not the elite of marvel franchise groups and the MCU shouldn’t put all their eggs in one basket with the films.

This is why it is so crucial to get the right team for X-men and FF. This will be the difference maker now that this era of Avengers is done :lecture

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

On another note is it normal for these big Avengers event movies to be light on toys? Seems like all Target has are a few figures of the main team in the their incorrect Quantum suits (like with Cap's A1 cowl) and then Ronin. Are we still in "early preview toys based solely on the trailer" mode or are Marvel toys not big sellers? I would have expected more of a SW type bonanza in the toy aisles for this one.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I think it was done to keep spoilers out so eventually Hasbro will catch up.

After EG I don’t care what marvel does now who is in charge who’s not I’m good stress free go to town lol

There were a fair number of toys, but a lot of them (mainly Thanos) were extremely quick sellers and are now out of stock at most walk-in stores.

And I freaking hate it when they do Walmart exclusives of Marvel Legends. :lol

In terms of interesting characters, diversity (not a bad word in spite of a small segment of overzealous self-styled 'warriors'), and depth with opportunities for great storytelling, X-Men checks all the boxes.

They could do some very cool things -- especially with their brand of MCU humour -- with the FF, but I think the new core should be the X-men and Spidey.

Captain Marvel's MCU portrayal needs a significant course correction and further development IMO -- as currently portrayed the character is not particularly charismatic or likeable. That's not Larson's fault, or at the very least part of the fault lies with writers and directors.

It’s going to be interesting what they do with WM . Cheadle is getting up in his years, which is probably why they didn’t transition from RDJ IM to Rhodie easily like in the comics. Too bad, because I liked Rhoadie as IM for awhile in the comics back in the day :lecture

I wonder if Terence Howard stayed as Rhoadie in the MCU , would Feige explored the option :dunno

Wow how could Feige not have considered it were Howard still in the role. Great move there buddy, you could have been headlining the entire franchise post-the-soon-to-be-biggest-film-of-all-time, lol. :duh

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Actually Khev hasn’t HT and the expensive 6” imports revealed all EG characters already?

Were you specifically referring to inexpensive toys lol

Completely agree, however I feel Disney in particular always jumps on the bandwagon of what’s currently in as a fad, particularly with what they feel is reaching their target audiences which is always families and the younger generation. So that’s why I feel they really are going to bank on GOTG being the next level of Avengers .

I just hope Feige steps in and tells Disney that’s not the group they should bank on for the future. I hope Feige assembles the best crew for X-men

Because if the X- men fail in the MCU , could be catastrophic moving forward :lecture

Are you being sarcastic :dunno

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I should’ve canceled my Koto Hulk and Thor statues for that EG Cap PO that is now sold out. :gah:

As a collector, I guarantee a film making 1.2 Billion in just one weekend will definitely effect the merchandise industry. So I wouldn’t worry, they will make more and probably even better products by the end of this year. So sit back and expect a wild ride

HT and SSC is going to go off the chain with the success of AEG. Just wait

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I have to take a poll

Now that's it said and done, what was everyone’s favorite RDJ IM suit

Mine has to be a toss up between IW and the A1 ( First Avengers) battle of NY suit , sorry I can’t keep track of all the MK names . something about that A1 was just so cool and unique
