Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

In the most recent interview between the Russos and Peter Travers they refer to the films from Iron Man 1 to AEG as "The Infinity Saga." Nice name for a box set. :)

They do admit to being partial to Cap due to their history with the character but still only call him the "co-leader of the Avengers" along with Stark. They consider Steve and Tony to be opposite sides of the same coin, where Tony's arc takes him from a self-absorbed loner to working well with a group compared to Cap who starts by taking orders like a good soldier but then has to eventually walk away from the powers that be due to his personal code of ethics.

Interesting stuff.

Hulk was worse robbery... But yes Alien 3 was very frustrating....

However... I actually like it a lot now.... but boy was I pissed in the theaters

:hi5:

If Blomkamp's Alien 5 had ever come to pass and was a worthy sequel to Aliens (was always unlikely, but I hoped) I was ready to nevertheless keep Alien 3 as 'alternative canon' because I do really like that film now.

Yeah for ALIEN I have two parallel canons:

A1/A2

and

A1/A2/A3

Because as much as I too appreciate A3 more often than not I just prefer the more hopeful ending of the second film.

I have tried many times to like Alien Resurrection on account of its impressive visuals but unfortunately that is always the only positive I take from it. Just about every other aspect is wrong. Still buying the NECA figures though. :slap :lol

1997, the year SW, ALIEN, and JP franchises went to pot, lol. It was also the year Paul Verhoeven stopped making awesome sci-fi.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I'm surprised Alien 3 gets so much hate. I guess because it was so different from the 1st 2? To me it's still better than 4. Prometheus & Alien Covenant were near unwatchable for me. I think I got to a point in both of those were I just scanned through them till the end, only stopping here and there to watch for a couple minutes.. :lol

But I'm not the biggest fan either, so.... :dunno

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

At least Avatar has a fighting chance since its up against forgotten Star Wars and tired MCU.

I'll go see Star Was (see what I did there?) on a cheap night. Open to anything MCU, hard pass on Avatar.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

If Avatar 2 bombs then "The Pandorian" will debut on Disney+ Fall 2023, lol.

Holy crap lol

I have the Avengers Assemble scene on my iphone that I recorded at one of my Imax shows with a hyper motivated crowd and i’m playing it over my car speakers right now and I kid you not when he said it and the audience reacted I got goosebumps!

TBH I take the Russos, Feige w. a can of salt now....or any time directors are talking. Way back when the Russos were tapped for Infinity Wars the main arcs were gonna be Cap/Bucky/Tony, SW, and Thanos.

Fast forward there ended up being hardly any of Team Cap in IW, Bucky hardly sez anything, and while there's a lot of SW it's not like she's trying to come to terms with her powers - or even the audience really knowing what her limit is.

Ended up with a lot of Thor, Tony, Banner, DS, and Guardians and Spiderman.:google

Not that what you posted is inaccurate, ultimately, but I think there was an awful lot selling of the next MCU especially in IW Then there's other stuff like how much Thanos children got talked up but overall I didn't find them mind-blowing.

Just sayin' - for me. But it's not like I wouldn't happily see EG again:cool:, if other people weren't being rude and keep buying tickets.:monkey3

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Thanx for posting that, good interview, enjoyed that. Always struck by how intelligent and how much experience Anthony Mackie has, for all his playing around. I think he's gonna be a great Cap - really liked how he talks about wanting to show this new Cap learning how to be Captain America.

I'll miss his dynamic with Steve Rogers. Although figure WS/Cap are gonna be amazing in the series - hopefully the script etc. are great.
