Wasn't Avatar's re-release extended cut really substantial I honestly don't remember anymore but wasn't it like 30 minutes more!

If Disney is giving us just an extra few minutes of non narrative quality substance then this is just going to scream desperation to beat Avatar with little respect for the fans

Unless the footage is impactful for the narrative I wouldn't do this.

so now how does this impact the home release should we now wait to buy the extended cut because at the end of the day I don't care where they put the footage it is now technically an extended cut and that's the complete version I want for home.

If the footage is substantial it will likely find A separate release.

I think the extended edition of avatar was about 20 minutes extra

When I saw the news I assumed they were making a legit last ditch effort to pass Avatar but padding the post-credits with non-narrative is a bit odd IMO.

Yeah Avatar's extended cut was pretty substantial.

I really hope they know what they're doing because if it's not anything worthwhile to warrant a rerelease they risk a social backlash. They got my money though lol

Alien directors cut was 2 minutes shorter than the theatrical lol

So now there's three versions.

No post credit scene.

SMFFH post credit trailer.

And then now whatever new stuff they add.

I hope the blu-ray is the original version with nothing after the credits. I like it having that finality.

Yeah that's a great point especially if the new footage doesn't add anything of value then it really hurts that narrative finality just for a cheap box office trick.

That being said I wouldn't mind the double dip as I wouldn't mind owning both versions as long as I have the original.

In other words this can still be a win-win lol

I wonder if Cameron was pissed at the Russos for not having Avatar or Titanic on Cap's "must see" list in TWS. That's probably why he dissed them by only congratulating Feige on EG beating Titanic, lol.

What took so long? I read this yesterday morning and logged in fully expecting to see a group of people up in arms but alas, nothing. Of course, it's just MTV and they always seems to award girl-on-girl action whenever possible (be it fights, kisses, love scenes, etc.), so maybe no one cared.

Funny thing is, I don't even recall CM and Minn-Erva's fight being any more significant than her battles with her other former Kree pals. Maria Rambeau's dogfight with her in the canyons was a bigger moment. Whatever.
