That footage shows way too much. My guess, they go find Thanos in the first act and defeat him, but the gauntlet doesn't work, so they go back to earth, defeated because they couldn't change anything. Time passes by, Widow's hair grows longer, Hawkguy and Antman join the team, and they start working on the time travel suits with the Antman technology. They go back in time to make small changes to previous events, like the battle in NY. Thanos from those timelines will still be the main antagonist, but he won't have a full gauntlet.

The guy from Double Toasted on youtube has a similar theory, that they'll beat Thanos relatively early on.

Works for me. All this PR without everyone else is a bummer - probably calculated by Disney long ago to ratchet the tension. Get butts in seats. Joe Russo said flat out Holland was kept in the dark 'coz he has trouble with "slippage". Maybe anyone who knows whole story has been threatened with the Gauntlet.

So I don't mind this early stuff, think it's just a distraction from the BEEF.

If they go back pre 2012 avengers imagine how many villains will be left alive, including the unstoppable aldrich!? One figures ronan will eventually destroy xandar and i guess adam warlock for guardians 3 will never be told

BTW the music at the end of the clip sounds very similar to the score from Batman Begins opening scene staring at 41 seconds.
