Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I don’t watch trailers, previews, read up on anything. I go in fresh knowing nothing about the movie so I think my opinion of “first impression” matters the most. I doubt that there is any critic who comes from this angle. Looking forward to buying on blu ray and watching for the first time.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

They completely set it to bring back cap in the future films with the whole Antman coming back and forth as himself from different times in his life.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

While I will still rate this movie a success there are 5 items that are super infuriating to me and collectively almost derailed the entire movie for me.

I will rate them from order of severity.

1. Is Marvel Studios mistreatment of the Hulk because Universal Studios will not relinquish control of him is that what’s going on here. I mean why else would Hulk’s IW arc NOT be fulfilled WHY! He lost BW and then put on the damn IW GAMMA gauntlet WHY WOULD THEY NOT CUT HIM LOOSE against Thanos and his army in super rage mode WHY MARVEL WHY!!!!!! It didn’t have to be World Breaker Hulk BUT at the very least let him have his freaking redemption from his IW beat down. Instead we get him throwing a stupid bench to showcase his rage, wut! That just hurts me to the freaking core our last chance of seeing Hulk BE HULK...wasted!!! WTF Marvel seriously WTF!

Grrr I wanted perfection or at the very least Hulk rage dammit!

Going again tonight lol

We definitely agree here! What a wasted opportunity! Hence, my disappointment! Like I mentioned in my spoiler, switch out a certain character and things would've been so much better.... Grrrr.

Poor Hulk and fans like myself, left jaded on the sidelines...……….:(

You have no idea how
depressed I am today that Hulk didn’t get his moment to shine. It was bad enough he didn’t get it in IW but I said ok fine it will definitely pay off in End Game so when it didn’t happen I just cried.

:exactly:

AGREED! I feel the same way!
Damn Disney....! Quit trying to force another character down our throats (especially one that isn't exactly liked by everyone) and respect the ones you already have! Hell, One good punch, and I would have been happy with that even!

Now if you'd excuse me... I'm going to go brood somewhere else and wait for the next episode of GOT on Sunday. I'm sure that'll in some way shape or form, piss me off too...………… :gah:

They tried to have a big
hero entry moment which is perfectly fine have a big hero entry moment but it should’ve been with super gamma powered up raged Hulk breaking out from the debris and NOT CM! Not because I don’t think she shouldn’t have her own big entry but save it for another moment AT LEAST LET HULK FULFILL HIS IW ARC FOR CHRIST SAKES!!!!!!!!

I understand your disappointment over Hulk not getting his chance to pummel Thanos, but he did have his super gamma powered hero moment - it just wasn't savage enough for you folks. He did step up, put on the gauntlet and snap his fingers, thereby bringing back half the life in the universe. Seems to me that was a significant victory, but I could be wrong. :lol

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I enjoyed the movie, but have few criticisms...

1. Caps ending.... I didn't like it. I would have preferred they have Cap move on in the current times rather than being stuck on Peggy. They had it all set up a few movies ago for him finally moving on (funeral) and to be with Sharon and then she disappeared.

2. Old Cap talking to Sam and not Bucky was stupid as well. Cap has known Bucky for the majority of his life. He's known Sam maybe 7 years? I don't mind Sam being the new Cap since Bucky was an assassin or whatever, but still felt weird for him to not talk to Bucky.

3. Fat Thor. It was funny for the first five min but then it just became kind of a joke. He seemed underpowered as well since he couldn't take on Thanos w/out the Gauntlet at the end. I don't mind that he went off with the Guardians though.

4. I don't mind that they killed BW, I actually enjoyed Hawkeye in this one and Iron Man's ending made sense since RDJ is undoubtedly done with the role.

5. I don't understand how Ned looked the same age? Unless he vanished too? And in the next Spidey film all the kids looked the same age too. I'm guessing it's a pre-qual to Infinity War? Maybe they are coming back from the airport/their trip on the bus when Peter sees the space stuff going on in IW?

Good try but NOPE! :lol

Somehow this will all pave a path for galactus and next thing you know Thanos was a mere small threat

I can see it now: Galactus is a giant, planet eating cloud, and Chris Evans reprises his role as Johnny Storm. "Fantastic Four, assemble!"

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

So out of everything the MCU has done in the past...

...Hulk not going full Hulk and instead using the Infinity Gauntlet to restore half of all life in the universe...

...is the one thing that jye does not approve of.

Yet somehow...

...Thor being an obese drunk throughout 90% of the movie...

...is perfectly OK.

I'm sorry but I just have to :lol at that.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I really liked the movie. You can’t do EVERYTHING in the 3 hour runtime but they sure did more than I expected.

I’m just wondering where Marvel goes from here.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Saw Endgame this morning. I pretty much agree with everyone's take on this so far. The positives and the negatives. I liked a lot, but felt confused/let down with a lot as well.

IW I feel is the better movie of the 2. After IW I couldn't wait to see it again. Not the same with EG. I'm seeing it again on Sunday with my kids, but I don't feel anxious to see it again at all...

From day one, everyone's theory was time travel. I always hoped it wasn't, but it seemed the most likely scenario with all the subtle hints. Time travel/altering the time line never works. It inevitably creates confusion and plot holes. Impossible not too. Just makes your brain hurt when trying to think/rationalize about it..

My too biggest gripes was Thor, for the same reasons everyone vocalized, and the ending with Cap. It most certainly should've been Bucky to pass on the shield too. I like Falcon, more than Bucky in fact, but Falcon has his own persona while Bucky does not. Bucky needs a purpose. Plus, Bucky is an equal to Cap in speed, strength and ability. Falcon is not. Bucky Cap should've been up to bat next in the MCU, just like the comics. But unfortunately, the current politically correct social climate was reason for it to be why they chose Falcon cap. Make's sense, but BS. Yet again angering/alienating long time Marvel Comic/MCU fans in favor for the current SJW's. And any one who speaks out about it will be labeled with something negative.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Everything Loki said except I was ok with Thor. He’s had a great ride and I expect we may see him again in this new phase of his life.

I think the blocker for Bucky is his past. While redeemed he’s technically not pure anymore for all the hydra Influence. But yeah Sam has a tough road ahead with no access to hero serum.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

How did they get the arc reactor from im1 from the bottom of the ocean when the malibu mansion was destroyed??? In IM3

In a movie where one can build a flying suit of armor, aliens with advanced technologies co-mingle with Earthlings, time travel is possible, and a genius racoon and his talking tree exist, I'm surprised you found it unbelievable they located the reactor.

Howard in 1970 has all black hair, at the stark expo he has full white set of hair by 1977 who knows lol

That's fully possible. I have a friend who had a full head of black hair turn grey in just 2 years. And we were teenagers then! I'd imagine an older person working under a ton of stress can be worse.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I think the blocker for Bucky is his past. While redeemed he’s technically not pure anymore for all the hydra Influence.

That shouldn't be a blocker, though - that should be the reason. It makes for more dramatic potential, while setting up a different version of Cap as Bucky tries to live up to Steve and make up for his wrongs (that weren't his actual fault, but he feels they are). Those are the EXACT reasons why I think BuckyCap! should happen.

The fact that he isn't pure, but he loves Steve so much and was a hero before what happened to him, makes him the best choice for the shield from a character standpoint and a dramatic standpoint.

I saw the film. Overall, it's a satisfying cgi fest, but how else can you do the last hour? It's the most epic thing I've ever seen in any movie with ridiculous fan service that feels earned. Thanos goes down has the most badass villain in mmovie history, and it's not even close.

Well we have what 6 movies now with a cocky confident muscular Thor.

Lets count how many movies with a raging world breaking Hulk, oh look that’s right...ZERO! :slap

What’s wrong with that picture you tell me lol

So yes drunk Thor made sense to me but not having a BIG Hulk moment for him to shine just like Thor has had in 6 movies and especially after the IW build up does infuriate me dammit lol

Speaking of Hulk it actually brings up something else that I think was a lost opportunity. Since they brought back almost every character they could’ve at least brought back Betsy Ross now that BW was gone.

AND WHY NO COULSON!!!! :gah:

Is no one going to admit that the first act was really boring? Like 30 minutes were absolutely worthless.
