Now that I understand the basis for Wolf's name at last, I am even more excited about getting him.
But you guys dumping all those cool HT AVP Preds....
For me...NO WAY! They are indelibly a part of all the Predator mythos now, and plus, I spent way too much time repainting all mine to unceremoniously dump them. No way. I love 'em! Nothing like the feeling I had when I first got my Celtic, the first posable Predator figure I ever had in 1/6 scale, and who does look EXTREMELY COOL to me...so I think you guys may live to regret all this...someday.

Oh well, no doubting that the future P1 is gonna rock the house though. To Hot Toys' credit, they did put it last, so they could work all said kinks out. And with these latest figs, we are the lucky recipients of all that effort.

It's just funny though, I was a mediocre Predator fan at best, only into aspects of them like the P2 Elder etc., before all the 1/6 AVP toy fun, now I am a full fledged fan, and glad.
Whatever works for you I guess.

But yeah, THE WOLF is gonna rule too!
Can't wait to get him.

Well, not all of us have become disenchanted with the AvP Preds. People are entitled to do whatever they want with theirs, but I for one haven't lost interest in mine at all. I just haven't had the time yet, but I still want to do some repainting and maybe some small alterations/modifications here and there on each one to make them look less alike. I'm really looking forward to working on them, actually.

I only have Scar from AvP and there is no way I'm getting rid of him. He was the fourth HT figure I got after Kyle Reese, T-800 and Hicks. I now have 32 HT figs, not quite as many as I have of SST figs, but I was collecting those for a lot longer.
I look upon them as little bits of history tracing a companies (and indeed the whole genres) development.
If I could keep only one Pred it'd be the Pred 2 Elder, but in an ideal world I'll keep em all, I love em!

That's cool. I know how it is when you want something bad and to get it you have to let something else go... it makes it easier if you can distance yourself from the things you decide to get rid of. I'm not saying you are doing that, but I can easily understand being in that kind of situation... I've been there myself. I'd still rather cut something else loose before I'd let my Predators go, though.

My AVP Celtic will be coming through this month, given that the AVP figures have little difference between them I am tempted to make the battle damage aspects of the Celtic come through, e.g. gashes to his mask and half his front body amour removed as per his scrap with the grid alien.......I think that would make him look alot more individual.

It's pretty f'n great that you could get all your money back in the first place. Some things lose value instead. Sometimes it's just a matter of timing, but when you have good taste in things and choose carefully, chances are there are plenty of other people who are after it too, like in your case. Sure makes things a lot easier when you need to produce some cash right away!
