David Finchers version of Alien3 would have been so good if FOX let him do what he wanted.
I actualy like Alien 3. I like the producers cut even more. And in some ways I like it as much as ALIENS. But it is to bad they did not let fincher do what he wanted.

The assembly cut of A3 is held more dearly in my heart even more than Alien
Yeah, Alien3 Assembly Cut is my favorite of all ALIEN films(Yes, even more than ALIENS).

Ugh......I missed her name because the guy next to me was shouting "What the ****" over and over but let me get this straight they are trying to connect these films to predate and in a way birth the Aliens saga? Sweet Malou. Its bad enough that these films suck more than the girls at Vivid Video but now they have to almost directly connect into the originals? What is next a young girl named Ripley making an appearance in AvP3?
I say they take a step back give it a couple of years and reboot the entire thing walking over to Ridley Scott's recent comments and say "put your money where your mouth is"...
So what's verdict on AVP-R?
Since everyone's talking about alien3 I imagine it wasn't very good.

That's what I'm talking about, it goes too far. Leave the individual creature series as they are, and make AVP a separate entity. Take only the basic identifying information about the 2 species away from their respective series and stay the course of fresh, new, unrelated stories, because undoubtedly, someone will write something that horribly doesn't jive with the previous films and just makes the film and writer look like an ass.
A fun ride while you're on the rollercoaster, but you shake your head about why you got on when you walk away.

My roller coaster analogy goes like this: Its like you're waiting in line for 2 hours for a roller coaster hearing people who are fans of roller coaster rides just like you getting hyped in line in front of you while its 98 degrees outside and 100% humid. Picture Orlando in July....the air conditioning is broken and people are warning you not to get all hyped up because it'll let you down but you still buy into it because you are hopeful and surrounded by fans who have been tracking this coaster's progress from idea to concept to reality. You finally get on and after 2 minutes realize that the first ten seconds of drop and twist was the only thing cool on the entire ride and leave tired, hot and grouchy that you won't get those hours of your life back waiting for something that was an amazing let down....savvy?

That is precisely the case, imho, and my list is exactly the same as yours.
As far as the AvP flicks playing fast and loose with the mythology of both original franchises (especially ALIEN)... Personally, I have no problem with it. Because, as I see it, that stuff still exists solely within the context of the AvP franchise itself. We don't have to accept it as canon in the "real" ALIEN or PREDATOR films. It's just silly fun and an attempt to "validate" the mythology of the AvP movies. Ultimately, it's banal but harmless... much like the movies themselves.
That is a good way to put it.
Seems I see a lot of movies like that. Too bad, would be nice to finally, after what? -- 20 years -- to have a good aliens movie. Or Predator. They just seem to get worse and worse.
I wonder how many people will dump their Predalien perorders and stuff? Nice design -- whatever? I like nice designs from good movies.
