Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics
I think it's not just HT. Delays have already become a plague that hit most manufacturers, even the "smaller" ones. HT however love biting more than what they can chew, so I hope they just keep things realistic, ETA's included. Personally, I don't mind the extra wait as long as the quality would not suffer. SSC's given in to pressure and tried to respond to the ever-growing demand of people longing for new Joes and Star Wars figures who felt like it's been a while since the last was released. In so doing they came out with a lackluster Obi Wan with a headsulpt and QC-ridden light-up saber that's not worth its almost HT-level price, plus half-baked protos of Cobra Commander and Vader with inconsistent costumes, bad tailoring, confusing specs details, etc. HT's on-time releases this year -- Snake-Eyes and Barney Ross 2, benefited from the delay of GI Joe the movie and Barney's specific base body and some gears already existing.
Also like I said before on this thread -- delayed as it is, I'm glad HT announced this earlier. If HT decided to announce this when it's almost ready for release, perhaps a year later than it originally did, I don't think this mammoth would still be less than $700.
