Ss is shiping dimensional weight, so actul weight wont matter.

Idk, I would think it does.

The actual weight doesn't matter unless it's more than the dimensional/billable weight (128 lbs. - see below) which it clearly is not.

I have a UPS account, but my discount is nowhere near what Sideshow gets. I calculated the following:

Ships to: Ohio
Ships from: Thousand Oaks, CA 91320
Dimensions: 49" x 27" x 16" (converted from 123cm x 67.5 x 41)
Weight: 30 lbs.
Declared value: $600
+ signature confirmation

Billable weight = 128 lbs.

= $140.36 (*includes large package surcharge of $55)

Ok. But I wasn't really referring to shipping charges anymore. I know what I'm paying and I'm fine with that.
I'm just curious about the product's actual weight, as the place I have reserved for it might me too heavy already..,

My guess is about 24 odd pounds. Shipping weight is dimensional weight so 24 is just a guess.

A box and foam can not possibly weigh 18LBS. I refuse to believe that!!!!

I don't think that is too crazy... The box is 4 feet long, and that foam is going to be pretty thick to protect it.

Not saying that is the case, just that it isn't too much of a stretch to think that the packaging on this may weigh quite a bit.

Thats a neat little display table mate...i like it. Is it from Ikea?

No. I bought fromAmerican Furniture Warehouse. If the specks are right it is just a little bit bigger than the Batmobile.:lecture

Oh see you pre-ordered the Hulk Maquette, you will love that one! Here is a pick of mine. :clap:clap:clap

I will be doing the same. Pull it out to show off, and wait till I find the display case worthy of this masterpiece.

Same...unbox it. Remove drool. Stare. Stare some more. Try to put Keaton bats in there. Snap pics. Box up. Pack in storage.....damn apartments!

Thanks for the heads up! Managed to snag it. Going to talk to a SSC rep to see if they can lower the shipping cost before making any final decisions but can't beat the $44 shipping cost BBTS is offering.

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

Wowzers, I just checked my Sideshow account and it has the estimated shipping now, $93.91 and I live maybe 40 miles away from them. I dread to find the shipping cost of this thing to people who don't live in Southern California.

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

anybody have any guesses about when BBTS will be shipping these?

im thinking august earliest?

Yep sounds about right- couple weeks after SS gets them

not much more- you are getting ripped on shipping from them! You should be able to do a pick-up from them but guess that is not an option for you!

According to Sideshow, they are eating some shipping costs even at $100. The thought is that BBTS is REALLY eating some shipping costs at half of that.

I want some custom made trophy displays, but they start at 1,995.00, but I am saving up just to display this without getting any dust!

40 miles? I'm in Agoura. I don't know anyone around me that collects. People think I'm crazy. Too bad we can't pick this up. A hundred dollars for a 20 min drive.

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

The local store that gets first stock figures from HK (at a very steep mark up -- I got my Bane from them on the same week as HK sellers did) posted on their Facebook page that they shall be getting their 1989 Batmobiles THIS weekend, priced at $920. As far as their history is concerned I think the latest they missed their ETA was by a week.

PREPARE YOURSELVES (AND YOUR SHELVES!)!!!! IT'S UPON US!!!!

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

So seriously - a lot of us are out of time in trying to figure out a way to display this. The top of my bookshelves are not wide enough, my detolfs are not wide enough, hell, my dining table could barely hold this thing. Suggestions I have seen:

-On top of a table (like a coffee table)
-custom made case
-aquarium
-re-purposed bookshelf
-the floor
-play with it and then box it

I really want to display this puppy beyond using it as a doorstop or displacing my meals. The aquarium idea is most intriguing for me, but boy does that suck up a ton of space. At the same time, this is one of those things that deserve it. So for those who definitely know how they are going to display this monstrosity, what do you have in mind?
