It's expensive to ship whether an hour away or 10 states away. No way around that.

Everyone cancelling two years to the day this was relevant at SDCC.


I'm actually going to see if I can return mine (since it's shipped), I'm selling my DX 09 Keaton Batman and DX 08 Joker for the new '66 West Batman and '66 Batmobile instead.

I'm actually going to see if I can return mine (since it's shipped), I'm selling my DX 09 Keaton Batman and DX 08 Joker for the new '66 West Batman and '66 Batmobile instead.

I just don't want to pay another $60 because I'm a cheap bastard, but when I think about it, it's kind of silly since the thing already costs $600 before shipping. I'll probably keep it.

Mine will be here tomorrow. Yeah, I wasn't happy about the extra $110 shipping cost but I'll be damned if I'm not living without this. You fair weather fans will regret cancelling when this thing triples in price after it sells out everywhere.

After seeing everything on the left side of this display I went ahead and cancelled my batmobile order with BBTS.

Congrats to all who will be receiving this awesome car in the next few days though!

Does look great doesn't it.

That left half is beautiful. Love the Taun Taun and Probe Droid.

I did. Tauntaun + Luke and Han and Probe Droid will be a more meaningful display for me than the batmobile + Batman and Joker (both of whom I'd still have to pick up.) The size of the car has been kind of freaking me out as of late anyway. Cancelling just made my life so much simpler.

Fair enough.

Like, look at the '66 Batman thread for instance. Everyone is in full blown excitement with, "ooooohs, ahhhhhhhhs", "day one purchase", "fantastic", "pre-ordering". Then when they're actually put up for order and the prices are shown and they take a year and a half to get to people's doorsteps, people will get tired of them after the first in hand pics.

This Batmobile is already old news, especially after today. All these releases come and go. I don't blame people that cancel with all the NEW TOYS that are being shown this week. Too bad the same thing will happen to them in months time. It's all about relevancy.

The only SW figures I own are HT Bespin Luke, SSC Yoda, and SSC Fett. So no, I don't see myself cancelling this Hoth setup when something "new" is revealed down the line.

I didn't state that it applies to everyone (you) and every license/collectible, did I?

It is a trend though. People just get caught up in the moment, that's all. Not saying there's anything wrong with that either, that's just how it is.

If I have one Batmobile, this is going to be it. '89 Batman is my favorite Batman movie of all time and this Batmobile is my absolute favorite. I enjoy the Nolan films and the old tv show, but nothing beats Michael Keaton imo.

I'm just looking forward to actually getting it in hand for myself and talking about it with fellow freaks on here.

These pics from Asia and collectors that are just getting it for the first time is cool and all, but nothing will beat when the UPS (or FedEx or whoever) comes at your door with this thing.

I'm still trying to work out how I'm going to come home from work in time. I want to meet the carrier at the door to snag it before I'm criticized and nagged for getting one. I'm also trying to plan where I'm going to set it up for opening and assembly. Monday should be a pretty fun day.

Well this is going to be the most expensive toy I've ever bought and I sort of question myself on such a huge purchase for something that is frivolous when you boil it down, but I love the vehicle so much that I find my sense of logic being overridden by the awesomeness.

Do what I do. Sign up for UPS choice and have it shipped to your local UPS store. I send all my figures there if they need a signature. It also saves my marriage from having my wife come home to see all the packages piling up.
