my scuffs, sucks.....contacted AE. awaiting word from SS.
For those returning it, are you going through the process of screwing it back down or just throw it in the box and call it a day. I'm hoping people just throw it in there, so there's a chance more damage can happen so SS can't resell them.
One thing is certain, Sideshow and Hot Toys may be banking that customers aren't going to go through the hassles of returns and just accept some low-ball credit but all of the re-sellers like AE and BBTS who have to deal with returns, it's hurting their business and they are going to have more influence to put pressure on Sideshow and Hot Toys to do something about the consistent QC issues if customers keep sending stuff back.
I do not, nor would I expect anyone else here to do so. That's why I'm saying Sideshow should step up and find a material for retouching the white marks that blends well with the black finish of the car - since they'll have plenty of returns laying around to test it on.You want to be the guinea pig and touch up your Batmobile with model paint or a sharpie and let us all know how it works? Be my guest.
You would think SS would get sick of dealing with HT QC issues, but then you think about all the ****ty product SS sends out themselves. It's a lose lose situation with these two companies.
but i wonder if we are the minority. i bet there are a lot of collectors who got this and just put it on the shelf and didnt really ***** or mind about the scuffs. plus, how many people got ones that were ok? if you look at the numbers, its probably within acceptable limits of HT and SS that 10% or so of people are complaining about this.
im sure they couldnt care less. quite sure. they dont even know we exist.
Almost half if you look at the poll.

From what I've seen, only the ones shipped to North America have this issue. We didn't see any scratched and scuffed units the first week when all of the photos and videos were coming out of Asia. So I do believe it has something to do with how they were all stacked in the crate(s) together on their way to Sideshow, and for that reason it's not going to be a "global" issue.but thats just the people here who bought one.
There are plenty collectors around the globe who arent members here, or, just arent as picky. I know, its crazy to think they are little more than urban legend, but they do exist.
I would guess the large majority of people who got this are just fine with it. if it was rampant, wouldnt SS and HT be forced to acknowledge it? Corporations have Depts set up just for this type of thing. The PR dept would be issuing statements if this was haunting them. dont you think? i do. i dont know. they might be playing dead, but i suspect this isnt bothering anyone at HT or SS.
After the Samurai Predator debacle, Sideshows official statement will be " hot toys wanted to create varying degrees of battle damge and the scratches and scuffs were intentional. "
Dont believe, go over the samurai thread. Their statement was a slap to the face.
