Beyond just sliding it forward, you've got to take it completely off to have the easiest access to get Batman inside. To do this, once you slide it forward, squeeze on the sides near the back part of the canopy to release the two corner gliding "nubs" from the main body. Then tilt the entire rear of the canopy UP and slide the front of it on the track back until you get it to the + shaped hole in the dash pad. Then just lift it through and off.

To see it done, watch this video starting at about 4:37

Thanks Darkmagic. I've never posed him inside so wasn't aware you have to take it off. I checked it out once when I first got but didn't go past the sliding forward part. Cheers

Thanks a million, I managed to get him in, I actually took his feet off to slide him in easier

You're both welcome. Looks great with him in there Bgnyc007! I know it can be nerve-racking handling these things sometimes--you want to be extra careful not to break anything.

Cool! I tried to get my figure in there with the boots on but no joy. I don't like taking the boots of Batman figures.

It is possible, but tough to get him in there without removing his boots (or cape). There's an alternative that makes it much easier, but it involves making a permanent, yet "invisible" mod to your Batmobile. I can repost the how-to if anyone is interested.

Every so often I turn and look at this thing in my collection and still can't believe it actually happened.

Same here the 66 was before my time but my dad got me into it in the late 80's before the 89 movie came out. I will definitely get

I'm wondering is it a good idea to keep batman sitting inside the batmobile for long periods? Or would this damage his suit somehow?

I just took mine out after about four months of him sitting in there, not because I was worried about the suit, just because I wanted to switch up the display. I looked carefully, and noticed absolutely zero damage, tears, creasing or stretching of the suit. But then again, my Batmobile is modded so that the figure doesn't have to bend at quite as tight an angle as he would to fit in a stock Batmobile. It doesn't have to bend at nearly a right angle at the waist, and the knees don't have to bend at all. It's got so much leg room that it can be practically reclining if I wanted.

Very nice, I'm still figuring out a set up for him with the car I picked up a poster recently as a background
