You'll be placing your order back through Sideshow? They'll probably send you the exact same damaged one again, or someone else's returned damaged one.

That's my fear. And EVERY vendor gets theirs from Sideshow because they are the ONLY distributor. I'm looking into some other options from other vendors who have this to see if they can inspect before shipping. If so, I'll order from someplace else. This will be the last "big ticket" item I'm ordering. NOT getting the '66 Batmobile after this.

I got my 1989 two weeks ago and I could care less if it had a smudge or light scratch this thing is amazing and I cant imagine sending this back this toy was way more inexpesive than toynami and I think they did an oustanding job . I think that both Hot Toys and their distributors had to deal with a lot to get this to everyone and to be upset over a smudge or slight scratch or glue on a window on an item that is almost 4 foot long and 50 pounds. I think that is nieve and petty.

It's my money. I could live with the rub, but I can't live with looking at sloppy white glue residue. Hot Toys and Sideshow need to do something about the QC issues. These things cost too much damn money to be receiving them like this.

Finally is gonna ship and I think they charge less shipping as well!

Finally got a response from Sideshow. It's either the $75 credit or the $65 refund or return in full. No replacement option available.

So it's going back for a FULL refund.

Once my card is credited I will be placing another order. If that one is received damaged then it will go back. I'll keep doing this as many times as it takes to get a perfect one. Hopefully they will get the message.

Did they lower the credit amount? I thought it was $70 refund/ $80 credit before?

Just talked to Sideshow. He advised me that they cannot guarantee any Batmobiles ordered won't have similar defects. There will be no replacements for these made by Hot Toys. Once they are sold out, that's it. So either be happy you got what you got or you roll the dice and take your chances getting another.

Order another one while sending the previous one back then?

Worst case scenario you have a damaged one, rather than no batmobile at all

I think a lot of people are changing there minds about ordering just because a few people here are upset by a scratch. This thing has got to be seen to be appreciated. Sorry not trying to sound like an *** but I waited a year and I think it was well worth the wait scratches and all.

Problem with that is it's still listed as "Pre-Order" on their site.

They could easily just wait to receive it when it's in transit and send him the same one. That's what sucks.

I know if I buy anymore after this mishap I'll be extremely vigilante on,

- Condition of the brown mailer box (I'll be able to see if it's gone several trips)

- If the "Hot Toys tape" has been cut

- Contents in side (is all the wrapping on with tape? Are the bags sealed the right way for the accessories)

Hell, when I send mine I may not put all the plastic wrappings and stuff back on. I don't even know if my brown shipping box CAN handle another trip. The point is, we should be destroying these with photo/video evidence so, A.) we have a right to a whole replacement and B.) nobody else gets stuck with the damage when they inevitably send the dud to someone.

For $720 I'd be PISSED if I not only received a vehicle with this damage, but it was second or third hand and not mint.

Interesting. So because Hot Toys was nice enough to make this item we all paid $600+ for, we shouldn't question widespread QC issues? We all just need to ignore the glaring scratches and glue smudges and feel fine with our purchase. Got it.

Hey... the next time a fast food joint gets you order wrong, just eat it happily and don't complain. They made it for you after all, and it is a fraction of the cost of the Batmobile, so you definitely have no grounds to complain. :)

What will they do with the returned damaged ones? I would assume they have some kind of insurance for this kind of thing. So destroy them or sell them at a reduced price and marked as damaged maybe.:dunno

That can't resell one that they KNOW is damaged without letting the buyer know it is damaged.

Unfortunately, this is par for the course with SSCs & these high end collectibles from Hot Toys now. They don't seem to be ordering much for QC issues at all. Had the same thing happen to me with an Iron Man figure I ordered. There was some paint slop on it and they just offered to give me a credit, partial refund or full refund. I accepted the partial refund because if I would have sent it back, there was no guarantee that the item would be available to reorder once I got my refund. Sure enough, by the time I got my refund, they were sold out.

So just be aware that SSCs probably won't have many for long.

They have done that before as either scratch & dents offered at reduced prices or we have seen that they send out returned ones to other customers hoping they won't have any complaints.

Sell them.

Yes they can and they have.

They've done it with statues, busts and figures. I got a used MMS 152 Reeve Superman from them one time. My excuse for returning it was because "it was clearly a return you sent me" and they admitted it, apologized and had me return it. They probably put it right back up for sale.

Maybe put a mark on the outer brown box that way you guys know if its new or if its a refurbished one.

This sucks, even though i dont plan to buy this. I hope HT take note when doing something this big in the future. I still havent opened my camo tumbler yet, but i dont think theres any problem with those.

If I paid $2000 for this like toynami wanted for theirs I would be upset by a scratch but for the $759.00 I paid I feel I got more than my monies worth. I hope others will not let this opinnions of A few influence there ordering one . I have no stake in this one way or the other but If you are a fan of the 1989 Batmobile you can not go wrong getting one of these. PLease view all the great post of happy people on You tube opening theirs.........
