Re: Batman: Arkham City

Sorry to get a little off topic but is the 3D GOTY edition of Arkham Asylum worth getting? I have the normal 360 version but does the 3D make things any better? Is it worth a try?

It is just the old red/blue anaglyph filter 3D so it won't make a huge difference like true stereoscopic 3D does since it messes up the colors and doesn't have the same depth effect. I play it in stereoscopic 3d on my computer however and the extra depth is awesome.

Ok, sounds like a good pass then... thanks. And to bring things back on topic... I can't wait for Arkham City. :)

Re: Batman: Arkham City

I'm only half way through the story on Arkham Asylum so I have lots of Batman goodness to keep me busy until then. :)

Re: Batman: Arkham City

Wow lot of late bloomers to this game. I purchased the first one day one it was my game of the year in my opinion. I found all the riddlers clues too 100 percent that was so much fun doing wonder if they are going to have clues to find in the new game.

I just got my 360 for x-mas and I am taking it slow. Looking around, walking slow, trying to read all the signs, looking all over each room... just taking it all in. I never get people who try to finnish a game as fast as they can. Like being able to say "I finnished in 6 hours" is somthing they should get a prize for.

That's a good way to look at games. Take them slow. Enjoy them. They cost way to much to do otherwise. No game should be rushed through to see how long it took to beat.

Oh, you didn't hear?? You get 10,000 Achievement points for finishing Arkham City in under 4 hours.

True, but it is hard sometimes to not play so much and to savor it all. A lot of the time if I really like a game and can't put it down I beat it in a few days. Luckily most of the time I can go back again and get trophies/achievements, or play multiplayer modes to extend replay value.

And some games you just like so much that you can just replay through again out of pure enjoyment.

Reminds me of the time I finished Uncharted 2 in one sitting. I didn't like the first game, but the hype won me over the second time around. I left the UC2 unopened for about a week or two in case of buyer's remorse, but I got bored and started playing it around 10 at night. I figured I'd get killed right off the bat and get pissed and stop playing. . . that never happened. I told myself I'd stop playing when the action died down. . . that never happened. Around chapter 16 or so, I was like "well, it can't be much longer, it feels like I'm almost done, I can't quit now" Ten chapters and 4 hours later, I ended up beating it around 7 in the morning.

It was epic. I was so out of it the rest of the day though :lol

But seriously, running through that building as it was crumbling down. . . best gaming moment of my life. . .better than beating Sephiroth.

Yup, when I get a game I could care less about acheivements the first play through.

I want the most cinematic and drawn out in depth gameplay experiance I can get. Who cares about some stupid trophy, I want to see Batman fight Scarecrow etc. Thats why I also only play on the second hardest setting the first time through, as opposed to the very hardest.

Took me about 20 hours to beat Half Life 2 the first time. Now I can run through it in about 5 hours.

Re: Batman: Arkham City

Any PC gamers of BAA here?

I really loved this game and I spent money to upgrade my comp just to play this game in full glory.

And it was a major pain to get it to run. Huge. And the game crashed on me TWICE and I had to redo 13+ hrs of game play. Then I had to start backing up my savegames to protect me from that happening again.

Many PC users had this problem. I really hope this won't be an issue with BAC.
