So what's the deal with the glitches?
Has everyone experienced them?
Is there some sort of bug fix online with the ps3 version?
( if so does it automatically update?)

Did you update to the .2 patch? It fixes a few things. Still has not fixed the batpod sounds cutting in and out issue.

I'm almost at the grand finale and I really don't get all the negative remarks on this game. One thing that I agree on is the fact that the hubworld/Gotham City is like a ghosttown. Although it is Xmas Eve; they should have included traffic and pedestrians...

Heh, yeah, where is everyone? Next game should be a bit more similar to GTA or sleeping dogs.

It's kinda sad whenever I read a lot of negative and it basically points to one thing...Nostalgia.

The game plays almost exactly like the previous...check
Great story...check
Amazing graphics, with a, excellent combo design of arkham and Nolan batman design...check

There are some comparisons that are legitimate, such as if the previous game has a much better graphics, story, better controls...those or whatever.
But if you're negative is simply...its not exactly like the other game,
You guys are missing out on a Lot of things...mainly...FUN.

It's a great game.
Don't dislike it simply cause it wasn't made by previous developer.
This new one took all the best elements and even made some of them better.

This reminds me of the people who hate all the new silent hills, cause simply, it wasn't made by team silent.
They're missing out or ruin a lot of great experiences.

I think people who dislike the game have perfectly valid reasons for doing so.

I still think it's a good game - 8/10. But it's undeniably more buggy, the visuals and animations aren't as solid as previous games, controls (mainly in combat) are less responsive, it reuses environments and, plot-wise, it's not that strong.
At the very least it's moderately disappointing - having been promised a Black Mask and assassins storyline, to suddenly get another Joker story is a letdown. And it's not that strong a Joker story - why does Joker hire the assassins in the first place? His motivation for that is unclear. It's also quite heavy on boss battles, which (with the exception of City's Freeze) are always low points for the series. The final boss is completely forgettable - and Bane had been pretty good up to that point.

It's simply a case of being promised one, interesting story with some neglected villains and instead being given quite an average Joker story.

Is it me or do people and things keep getting stuck in the environment in this game?

I just got the part where joker robs the bank, then after silently taking down people from above the person I have to interrogate is stuck half in a wall. I'm pressing "Y" like it says but nothing happens because HES STUCK IN A DAM WALL. Gezz it's like this happens every time I fight someone.

I just had to restart the game and do it all over again. Gezz talk about sloppy game play.

Chris

I had this exact problem at the same point. Was really annoying having to do the whole section again. I've been worried about it happening again now.

I have been playing it and I am really enjoying it. I do find it it a bit strange though. There is something that is "off" too me about it. Not enough to make me not like it, but enough that it feels strange. I do wish there were some civilians around to save or hide from (to keep up the idea that Batman is an urban legend) or something along those lines. Anyways, I am still thoroughly enjoying it. It is definitely a strong addition to the line.

I do find it funny that, at least to me, many of the negatives that have been stated, here and elsewhere, are either about it being too much like the previous game or that it isn't enough like AC. Oh well, I will enjoy all the Batman awesomeness that AO provides until the next one comes along (next gen goodness = drool)

*RENT THIS SPACE CHEAP*

Can you imagine the next gen version with a bursting, lively Gothem , a batmobile to drive and the villains creating havoc.

Epic!!

I actually preferred the visual style of this game; AA and AC were both great, but they had that muscle head engine where everyone was on 'roids. AO seems to take things in a more stylized direction, using the current gen's power to the best of its ability. I can't wait to see what's delivered on Next-Gen systems, though.

I really don't think it's fair to nitpick the plot, either, as, narratively, you could probably find quite a few issues with AA and AC, as well. As for the boss fights, you're absolutely right; boss battles were the low points of the series, but this game changed that; I felt that all of the boss battles were highly satisfying.

With that being said, I wholeheartedly agree about it being buggy. I was trying to get the point for point trophy while fighting Deathstroke, and I wound up with the camera getting stuck behind a wall, meaning that I was essentially fighting blind, and my streak ended, thusly.:lol

The quality control is a disgrace. I haven't encountered any bugs, but the Fast Travel frame rate issue is enough to annoy me. They've already submitted a patch for it, so if it was that easy to fix, why did it happen in the first place? Did they not even play the final version at all? There are also small things, such as the subtitles being incorrect at times, that should have been seen to. If they can fix the technical problems, then I'm sure I'll really, really enjoy the game. I'm going to wait for the patch and then play New Game Plus. Based on the story, I'd give it 7 or 8 out of 10, but overall, due to the inexcusable issues that simply should not be present, it's an average 5/10.

Oh, I definitely agree that AA and AC have problems with their plots, but the plot of Origins just seems kind of forgettable. There's one obvious standout moment, but the rest is just a typical Joker story.

AC's story suffered from trying to fit in too many big characters, but it had the Joker story alongside the Strange story and they intertwined quite well, with a great ending. But here we just have a Joker story with only one real twist.

That said, I had worried that the game would just be 8 areas with the 8 assassins as their end of world boss. Though I maybe would've preferred that - it'd have given them each their own time to shine, instead of some of them not even being in the main story, and some of them just suddenly turning up without warning.

And it's happened again, just cleared the room in the royal hotel except for one guy, couldn't figure out why he was in the next room or how to get there and then I realised, he wasn't in the next room, he was in the wall. It's getting ridiculous now.

I think it's even more frustrating because other than that I'm really enjoying the game so far. Like others have said, the story is really good and I think everything is a bit tighter than Arkham City. I loved that game but the story seemed a bit of a mess and like they were just trying to cram as many villains as possible in. I also find that when fighting a bunch of guys I try to counter and it just doesn't happen, not sure if that's a glitch or just me, but I was always pretty good at it on the previous games.

This happened to me too later in the game. A guy got stuck in the wall. Did you try Bat-clawing him? That worked for me. It pulled him free from the wall so I could continue without having to quit and retry.

I agree with what you said, it's a shame because apart from the glitches it's a really great game and the story is excellent.

Fighting Deadshot now.

I really like how he can use his rebound shots to get you - adds a new layer to the Predator section as you try to avoid his lazer sight. I also just like the design of Deadshot in this one. The side stuff I've done so far has all been pretty decent.

Hey dude, how's it going? I keep meaning to reply to your PM, sorry itd been so long. Haha. Glad you're enjoying the game though, i had a feeling you'd love it. :)
Yeah I tried using the bat claw, tried hitting him, throwing batarangs. Nothing seemed to work. And just now everything got super choppy, like when you have a DVD that starts jumping and playing up. It was ridiculous. I couldn't tell what the hell was going on. They seriously need to release some patches for this otherwise I reckon a lot of people will stop playing.

I'm just trying to track Bane after the whole joker scene. Man that was awesome. Truly awesome. It could possibly be the best story of the three games so far. The joker in this is just amazing.

Concerning the Lacey Tower detective case

How did Batman deduce the mystery man was the Joker? He scanned all the evidence in and hacked into GCPD, and was just like "a-HA, the Joker!" He'd only heard the Joker's name once in passing before. Was there some sort of DNA evidence that he got from GCPD?
