I feel like Daredevil was the lovechild of both Nolan *and* Marvel's different styles and it worked amazingly well. I'm surprised that Feige doesn't seem to be recognizing that more vocally or at least be willing to let that approach segue directly into upcoming feature films.

I agree with you on that, even though the show lagged a bit for me toward the end of the season. DD was nearly as good a crime/procedural show as Bosch, while also obviously having the superhero aspect.

Re-reading his comments, he does seem to be making a backhanded criticism of Marvel, which I didn't notice before. Ballsy, all things considered (closest thing we've seen to that in a Marvel film was the first Hulk movie, and. . .), but like Khev is saying, it's not a bad approach. Execution, however, has been lacking thus far.

WB think they're creating great intellectual pieces featuring a billionaire dressed like a bat and a flying alien [emoji38] They just don't get it.

WB it's not what your filmmaking philosophy is underneath but how good your movies are that defines you.

I like that approach. The Dark Knight was a crime drama character study. I live this approach, and face it guys DC has do be different than Marvel.

Everyone's prematurely judging harshly. They've only got one movie out, and it's not a bad movie.

I think BvS is a whole new animal....may echo some of MOS but I think it'll be unique

After the abysmal creative failure of Man of Steel, they should be worried about making a single good movie.

:goodpost:

But you forgot to add:

>Batman Forever
>Batman And Robin
>Superman Returns
>Green Lantern

(I'll give the Burton batfilms a pass because they're essentially Burton-fied rather than source inspired, but neither one has aged very well.)

Warner Bros. execs can't find their own a$$es with two hands and an a$$ map.

And--just as it's been the case since 1961--DC is playing catch-up by attempting to copy Marvel's original formula.

There can be only one innovator. All the rest are merely imitators. :pow

And good luck with Gigli Affleck!

That's because he had nothing to do with it. He isn't listed as a producer on the series, he can't walk around talking about how something he didn't have a hand in is a critical success for the brand he is trying to stranglehold. DC films and Marvel films will never been in the same ballpark, DC/WB has decided to jump the gun and not lay the groundwork that Marvel has so by default it'll be a different animal. The suits talking doesn't mean much on either side, BvS will make a boatload of money regardless, what they need is it not to be a Spider-Man 3 where it made a lot of money but killed the franchise. They've got all their chips on this and that's something that Marvel hasn't had to do. Even Avengers 2 which had mixed reviews wasn't a lynch pin for future Marvel projects, DC/WB has a lot riding on this.
