Whether the suit is more accurate to the books or not is one thing (it is), but the fact of the matter is that the suit alone doth not a Batman make. I'm sorry, but this:

...is more aesthetically pleasing than that, any day of the week. Now, if we were talking about this:

I'd agree wholeheartedly, but I don't think that something "more accurate" can magically make a ****ty picture better than a well staged one.

It's not a very flattering photo of the Affleck Batman (maybe the worst?), but who cares, we've seen plenty of great shots of him already. The marketing is going to take a shift in a different direction and focus on Wonder Woman most likely. Trailer 3 will probably be about her.

Oh and for some reason the pose reminded me of this.

I don't know who looks more uncomfortable and stuffed, Bale or Affleck.

They just have that look in their eyes where you can tell they took a **** in their suits and don't want to live anymore.

I can see the love for the BB suit but looks like a big slab of rubber- impossible to move in- the TDK suit looks practical and very movable(well as much as a suit like that can be)

The Adam West suit is best suit.

He was the most mobile and the most accurate to those funny books.

The TDK suit works in TDK because the re-design is explained as he needed to be more agile and the scenes justify that. By the end of TDKR the look felt out of place.

He didn't need a new suit in TDKR though. The only upgrades he go in TDKR were the EMP gun and the Bat-wing, which was the most practical and useful vehicle in the trilogy.

Broke tradition of a new batsuit in a new film. Batman is constantly upgrading and tweaking his suits in every incarnation. 8 years later Morgan Freeman developed a magical leg brace, TWO Bat wing vehicles (one that comes in black), a bunch of pointless Tumblers but no new modern duds for Batman? Get outta here! Should have given Bruce a suit with a ****ing spine!

Da hell with it. Not like it matters anyway, a new suit would be short lived since Batman is barely in it.

The hell with tradition...a bunch of pointless upgrades and no neck mobility, plus that's how we ended up with those damn nipples. Besides, the TDK suit worked fine against cats, according to Lucius Fox in TDK, so that was nice foreshadowing, even though they never actually fought each other. Besides, I've always hated the idea of characters getting new costumes for no reason just to sell more merchandise, but that's just me.

The TDK suit was tailor made for action figures! Just look at it, it's like the Green Goblin movie suit but in black with a cape!

A sequel is usually a chance to improve upon something. Every movie Batman has gotten new gadgets, new vehicles and new suits. It was silly and jarring for him not to get a new Rises one. In addition to the themes, color palete and villains, the suit sets the tone of the movie. There's no doubt in my mind that Lindy Hemming and whoever else working on costumes couldn't design or improve upon the 2008 Bat costume, make a little scenario for the upgrade in the script (they did it for everything else!) and yes, make some cool looking toys out of it.

It's history now though. Water under the bridge, nobody cares.

I want a dark blue and grey version of this Affleck suit in "the next one". Bring back that yellow emblem that Schumacher and Nolan got rid of too. It's been 20 years too long.
