Ugh it's even worse a second time. Cavill is so bad he's like some random youtube actor that you see in those "Who would win, Superman or Darth Vader" short films. And it's so awkward how he delivers his whole "the bat is DEAD, consider this mercy" line and then slowly turns around, slowly takes a couple awkward steps (toward the edge of the Batmobile's hood??) *just* so that Batman has enough time to conveniently say the "do you bleed" line. You'd think that with Superman's "mercy" comment he'd want to put an exclamation point on that and just boom take off like a rocket but nope, he slowly meanders toward the edge of Bruce's car just so that Batman can get the last word in a contrived "whoa" moment. Yikes. Not looking good.
Yeeeeah.

Can't disagree with that.

Even when he stopped giving those 2 steps felt overacted :lol

Oh well, I got me a nice Mafex figure at least. Don't think I'll be spending HT money if the movie ends up being as bad as my expectations tell me.

I'm holding out hope that it will still be entertaining, either deliberately or not deliberately. I mean those Genisys trailers were *garbage* and the movie still turned out fun so you never know. :lol

The answer to that is Sups in under 5 seconds...if he really wanted to. :lol

The delivery was kind of bad and the whole "Mercy" thing sounds like a weird thing to say, but as far as his acting goes, I blame Snyder for that, because Cavill is pretty good, especially in "The Man from Uncle." He's charming, charismatic, and likable in that film.

I do worry about Wonder Woman though...and how we haven't heard her character say a single line in 3 trailers and several TV spots. If Cavill who is a much better actor sounds a little weird, I can only imagine what Gadot is going to sound like, but I hope that I'm wrong about her.

As far as Superman taking his time to leave, it makes sense, he's on top of the car and in the previous film, when he takes off he always tells people to back off and give him some space, so he just wanted a little space.

That was awful. I'd say it was just a bad trailer and move on, but since Zack Snyder is proud of this, my enthusiasm has been crushed. I'm sad now. :lol Man, I was really excited, but this is beyond wooden. That clip seemed like those horrible youtube fan films. I'm not going to judge Henry Cavill because I haven't seen his work but that was bad. The way the scene was cut, it seemed like something out of a comedy.

The word from those who have already screened BvS is that Gadot is horribly miscast.
The biggest problem reported with her miscasting is that "she can't act."

(in bold) - totally!! :lol

..& agreed with the rest too. There's zero chemistry between the two actors so far as well IMO.

Throw WW into the mix, & it's going to a feel like a different movie each time one of them gets a close up. :lol

Ha ha i love how Supes is an ass to Batman.
Guy is a god, he has a whole planet to take care of.
People are busting his balls for everything.
And this lunatic in bat costumes is taking a piss at him.
Tsss yu ****ing ant dont annoy me or ill end yu.
I just love Snyders and co take on the character, anything can happen, and Batmans fears of Supes becoming a world dictator could become a reality.
More interesting than the super boyscout routine.
Never gave a flying **** about Supes but since i saw him punching Zod in MOS screaming at him to not touch his mother (and leaving her with 3 kryptonians lol) i was like okay this is gonna be something different.

Honestly, I'm just tired of the constant negativity, when no one has any idea. I'm not the biggest Man of Steel fan, and I've been pretty open about the stuff that I found ******, but the level of hate for this movie is almost unnatural.:lol I look at something like Deadpool, for instance. That movie has absolutely flawless marketing, but, at the end of the day, there's always a chance that we're seeing all of the best parts of a mediocre movie. Do I think that's the case? Absolutely not, but, as the great Yogi Berra said, "it ain't over 'til it's over."

I see so many people acting like they've seen this movie when, cumulatively, they've seen less than 5 minutes of it. I just think it takes the fun out of it, myself. This movie has been like a fun vacuum. Not because of Zack Snyder, or Frank Miller, or tone, or anything like that, but because of fans. If a person says "that's pretty cool," they get blasted with 10 people telling them why it sucks and why it's wrong to get excited about it.

I think it's the internet culture or something, but when did we lose sight of the fact that entertainment is about being entertained? I'm not saying it's the case for everyone, nor am I saying that we should have no expectations of what we find entertaining, but there is a part of me that thinks some people genuinely just want this movie to fail. For what reason, I don't know, and I do believe that it very well could be bad, but, more than anything, I just want to take a minute to appreciate the fact that, in the characters' 75+ year history, I got to live in a time where we'd get to see them brought to life on screen, together, for the first time.

Most of the "hate" or criticism stems from people not liking MOS. Had MOS been well received or beloved, there would be less hate and people would be more optimistic about this film. They would be more open to give the small flaws a pass, like they do with other films like SW, but unfortunately, you combine the bad taste MOS left on some fans, people's opinion of Snyder, the hit and miss marketing, and the last trailer, and you have the perfect storm...or... tornado of hate.

People are also a bit more cynical now, especially in forums because negatives comments just like negative reviews are usually more fun to write and they get more attention, so that happens with all films now, not just BVS. I've been saying for a while that BVS probably won't get great reviews from critics, and those who did not like MOS, who think they'll be getting a different Superman, will be disappointed, thus adding to the hate this film will get.

I don't expect a perfect film, but I liked MOS, so I have no problems with Snyderman or the world of MOS. Some people can't let go of the past and the Reeve Superman, so they'll never like this new version, but they think that their love for Batman might save this film for them. Funny, just like WB is putting the future of their cinematic universe on Batman, a lot of people are doing the same with Batman when it comes to liking this film.

Still, though, it's all so wishy-washy. Star Wars, for instance, as you said m, they give it a pass because of the OT, but totally disregard the fact that, for every chance it could reclaim the glory of the OT, there was always a possibility that it could fall into the same trappings of the PT. I just think it's premature is all.

People like to overlook the fact that, before The Avengers, there was Iron Man 2, and I think that's something to consider when we're talking about Man of Steel. I see so many people that talk about DC's "track record," as though they've had a whole series of movies that sucked, when, in reality, they've had one film that had a slightly lukewarm reception. I don't buy into the **** about "well, if you look at all their other movies, too;" that's like blaming Kevin Feige for Howard the Duck or that Sci-Fi channel Man-Thing movie.:lol

I also really don't see what's been so terrible about the trailers. Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne? Good. Wonder Woman? Seems to be capturing people's attention, even though we haven't heard a word of her performance. I think the same goes for Superman and Batman, too. We've had the same bit of dialogue repeated for Batman like 5 times, we see like one snippet of a performance out of Cavill, and we're writing it off like that defines the entire movie.

If it's bad, it's bad, but it seems like a lot of people are judging it based on the preconceptions in their minds, as opposed to what we've actually seen.
