Does the $415 include their terrible marketing campaign? Usually the marketing amount is almost half of whatever the budget was...so this is a very expensive movie if $415 is just the budget . If it gets really bad reviews, and that's very likely, then it might not even beat Deadpool's opening numbers.

Supposed to actual cost WITHOUT marketing!

How many of those had great performances, witty well written scripts and original storylines?

None of them.

Most of them had competent performances and scripts though. They were alright, good, satisfactory. Doesn't change the fact that they had scenes or entire sequences that looked fake and video game like, which is the topic at hand.

they ain't that great.

But it is serviceable so far and no better or worse than it's competition. I've hated those fake *** Superman statue shots since the very first teaser, but that's the reality of these huge blockbusters now, Star Wars and Deadpool included. The CGI work, particularly at the end in Deadpool was atrocious, but that's the standard now. At the end when they pan away from Deadpool and his girlfriend overlooking the destruction, the environment was actually going to dissolve into green screen with the two of them surrounded in a sea of green, but it got cut. :lol

That's just what these big budget movies are now. Going back to WEEJedi's, post, all those movies in the past year have been as guilty as Batman v Superman. Dunno why people are ridiculing BvS for it exclusively.

400+ million plus probably half that again in marketing? Years of post production it should look like ****ing 2001 or Metropolis in 2016.

I agree with this 100%. They had so much ****ing time to perfect this entire movie so I don't get what their excuse is for it if the final product isn't atleast "decent".

Don't want to see this fail, we'll see. Not too worried, but then again, that could be a bias like we discussed previously. I don't think this movie is going to be pure tripe though.

Pretty much. It's still an OK movie, there's far worse out there but yeah, most of them now are just coasting through their roles and cashing in the hefty pay check at the end.
I agree with that for the main actors. I thought Bettany as The Vision was pretty good for the limited time he had on screen.

Not worried at all- I think we have seen VERY little of the movie and it's going to be far better than most people think. ALOT has yet to be revealed and I think it will cement Affleck's version of Bats once and for all. Cavill will probably have alot more to do dramatically playing off of Bats and Lex...

Agree with nearly everything you said except the first part which is highly subjective.
I don't think you are distinguishing between movies whose strengths solely lie in the quality of their effects and those which have more going on. Be it good narrative writing, great characterisation or stellar performance.

i just really dont understand why dc is worried,

They're not really worried. That's just what certain fanboys get their jollies thinking.

What some of them might be, however, is ANXIOUS. And that's actually not the same thing as worried/concerned. It's been a long slog and many folks are just anxious to get this out there and see where it all goes.

Huh. I guess you could quibble about the details, but my conceptualization of "anxious" is pretty closely aligned with that of worry and concern. Looks like Mirriam-Webster feels similarly:

: afraid or nervous especially about what may happen : feeling anxiety
: causing or showing fear or nervousness
: wanting or eager to do or have something very much especially because of fear or nervo
usness

Avengers: Age of Ultron
Jurassic World
Ant-Man
Terminator Genisys
Fantastic 4
Tomorrowland
Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Deadpool

All contain video game levels.

Aside from maybe one or two movies from that list..... the others all looked better than what we have seen from BvS.

Eh, I suppose. But it's not really nervousness as much as just chomping at the bit to "get the show on the road". And people are tired on top of it. Like I said, it's been a long slog... 3 years. Let's just get it out in the wild and let it be what it will be. The longer schedule has also elongated the speculation and scuttlebutt/rumors part of the process, too. Believe it or not, that gets pretty tiresome. :lol

Absolutely- the wait is very long- three years they have worked on this film. It does seem make or break for the entire DCU of films, though. It almost is guaranteed to be a hit just by the content and if it's action packed enough for the "masses". Critically it could go in any direction.
I'm sure WB has put everything into this besides money to engage the potential audience. I'm looking forward to this board and the opinions that will be unleashed ...
