I kind of wonder how people would have reacted to the Nolan trilogy had it been released post-Avengers. We already saw some of it with TDKR, but it really does make one curious.

I just don't understand how some can get so angry over bad reviews, even implying in some cases that there must be some sort of conspiracy at work. I guess these are the same people who imply that reviews are bought and paid for when a movie they don't like gets a favorable reaction.

The vast majority of us on here are fairly well into our adult years, yet many get so riled up over such trivial matters. I swear, I've seen more reasoned reactions from children.

I'd like to think that I've been reasonable in this thread thus far, yet I'm admittedly biased and have personal stake in the movie. So if I can use reason and be level-headed about this, what's everyone else's excuse? :lol

I was actually thinking the same exact thing earlier. This film is absolutely less ponderous and self-serious than the Nolan Batman films, yet it's being raked over the coals by many critics for being "too ponderous and serious". I guess you either have to make an Oscar-caliber superhero movie... or a full-on popcorn flick, but nothing in between? Or in the post-Avengers world all comic book movies must be less serious fare? :huh

The one that is really full of **** is the guy who says it's devoid of any humor. That's either a flat-out lie, or HE's the bore. Because there are some moments (much fewer than Marvel, yes) of genuine humor in this. More than Man of Steel, for sure. And more than the Nolan films.

I thought it was really weird for WB to go public with announcing a rated R version for home release before the release of the movie.

C'mon Irish....spill the beans. :lol

Your going to see this movie no matter what, so who cares that everybody doesn't want to sleep in your bed made up with Batman sheets, wearing your Superman underoos.

Even I'll end up seeing this out of curiosity, albeit on home video.

Easy for you to say your obviously not a fan. Age means nothing, fans are rabid by nature, I guess you haven't seen to many nfl football games.

Good example using NFL. I am either cussing at my TV or jumping three feet high and screaming joy. I think there has to be a attachment to a team or in this case a character. Rushmore might not have as deep of an attachment to Batman/Superman as others?

I certainly didn't mean you, actually the ones I'm thinking of are only a few.

If anybody should get worked up, it's you, as your the only one with a horse in this race.

Your right, but I do like both characters, but honestly I've seen enough bad Batman and Superman (especially Superman) films that I don't get surprised when another bad one comes out.

I'm not a big sports fan either, and yes, seeing a lot of sports fans behavior really makes me shudder at times.

I'm pretty even tempered, or, for you Superman fans, mild mannered.
