Some fans are pathetic.

I like Star Wars, but I didn't get filled with rage when the prequels were bad. This stuff is meant as a diversion, something to enjoy, it's not a substitute for having a life.

Truth. It's alright to have preferences, I know I do. And it's alright to deeply care for such things. Folks get sad over their teams losing, their favourite characters' solos getting cancelled, all kinds of things. But jeez louise, try to behave yourself. The movie's mediocre. It happens. There's no grand conspiracy, there's no Reptilian Illuminati behind this. Just critics who didn't like what this movie tried to do. And I really don't get why everyone's blaming Marvel for this. I mean, WTF? The Fox-Men get great reviews. If Marvel could influence critics like that, the first thing they'd do is assasinate the Fox films, not the DCEU. Some folks just can't accept reality and are looking for scapegoats.

Dude is willing to use lethal force on Superman... A guy everyone knows actually saved a TON of people despite the destruction he caused. This isn't the Presidential whipping boy Superman from DKR where the whole fight makes sense (and btw he was never actually going to kill Superman in that fight). This is Batman going to kill a guy that he basically thinks MIGHT someday go awry. Might.

Thats maybe worse than Punisher even.

I'm actually OK with his being a paranoid pre-emptive striker. Like Ryan is saying, Batman's paranoia is real, and fuels a lot of what he does. He goes overboard with a lot of what he does because he never feels like he's doing enough. But that doesn't extend to murder.

Because hey, WB, a film juggernaut, is totes gonna be destroyed if BvS gets negative reviews. Worst case scenario is them bumping the Batman film before JL or something to build up hype. Because if there's one thing the Bat can do, is put butts in seats.

Oh I am fine with him having contingency plans. No problems there... That isn't my issue.

He is willing to use lethal force on hired goons.
He is willing to use lethal force on Superman based on what he MIGHT become.

Joker is still alive.

Doesn't make sense.

The very fact there is this much chaos and hair pulling over this means huge box office- even the haters and such will go see it despite what they are saying.....
in the meantime just put on your flak jackets and go out swinging:lol

Well said.

I love both Marvel and DC.

But maybe next time Snyder won't talk **** about Marvel only creating Ant-Man fluff.

I'll be waiting for video.

There was a possibility of me seeing it at the theater because my Wife wanted to see it, until she saw the reviews last night.

this could ruin all their plans the same way amazing spiderman 2 ruined all plans for sony

I'm wondering, does this movie's show Batman actually kill with intent to kill as part of this movie's character? Or are they just action sequences that Snyder thought would look cool, without thinking that the audience might take Batman as a murderous Batman.

Nah Zak will even be more angry at Marvel now:lol...however be prepared for a kinder, gentler JL!

Absolutely! I always thought an Afleck Batman film should have come before a JL film, now more than ever.

So Batman in the Snyderverse is a Daredevil/Punisher combo? I think I can live with that...
The only issue will be if he spares his rogues gallery or not... and why?

Oh? What did he said?

Zack Snyder Takes Shot At Ant-Man, Here's What He Said - CINEMABLEND

"I feel like he’s right. But I feel like Batman and Superman are transcendent of superhero movies in a way, because they’re Batman and Superman. They’re not just, like, the flavour of the week Ant-Man – not to be mean, but whatever it is. What is the next Blank-Man?"

Yep, professional right there. The dude is more concerned with throwing shade than actually improving his work through constructive criticism...

this could ruin all their plans the same way amazing spiderman 2 ruined all plans for sony

Eh, Sony had financial troubles well before TASM2. WB is doing just fine.

Got out of the movie an hour ago.

You probably know by now that i was pretty much into Snyder's approach of the universe since MAN OF STEEL, that i liked a lot, even if i recognize it's huge flaws. Never been a reader of the comics (save for some big ones like Birthright DKR year one), so i dont have any preconception of the characters and i fully embraced what i call Snyder's "heavy metal magazine" take (even if its probably a take that was already there in some comics that i have not read).
Im good to go with the dead serious take.
I like how he, Chris Terio, and many other are building the JLA universe on screen.

I liked a lot BvS but i don't love it, like i love MAN OF STEEL.
Wich is weird because BvS is clearly a better movie than MOS.
The writing is better, the story is engaging, its smart, sometimes moving even.
BUT one big thing was missing for me, one big thing that made me follow Zach Snyder since DOTD.
His style.

I was hoping with BvS to find what i love in Zack Snyder, the over stylized, iconic, ultra choreographed, operatic style that reached its peak in WATCHMEN. I was not expecting this overstylized non stop thing like he did in Sucker Punch but when needed.
And sometimes he delivered, like the beautiful (lie) opening, or with Superman saving the world montage.
But most of the time it was cool but didnt feel as good as it usually is when Snyder really prep, storyboard all his shot.
I know its impossible for such big movies, the director has to be everywhere and has to trust his second unit, the previz guys and all his team.
So i was ok with most of the movie, its a more naturalistic style, Its mostly editing work and the story building up was cool and this style works great for what is being told on screen, some kind of superheroic thriller drama.

But what a disappointment when the big action start for the climax...
Supes vs Bat is quite cool, it has the good dosage between iconic, stylized and roughness.
But Doomsday...

The fight is uninteresting, its dark, lightening bolts everywhere, flames you cant really see who is doing what (im exaggerating here of course), i mean i know what's going on, i like what going on but cant see really.
Gone the ultra clear clean readable fights of his previous movies and sadly nothing comes close to the battle of Smallville or Supes vs Zod, wich are for me the best super hero fight ever put on screen period.

So even if i loved a lot of the movie, that it will be one of my favorite super hero flicks and that im so there for JLA im a bit dissapointed.
I will see it again tho tommorrow, the movie has a lot to offer and to enjoy and its worth a second screening.

Oh one thing on Lex, he's exactly what yu expect from Eisenberg and what yu saw in the trailer and as Irishjedi said yu will love hating him but i would have done without the little things that basically show you that the guy is crazy, the muscular twitches and crazy eyes were a bit too much and what a bad idea after seeing him iconised, crowned in the final sequence to see him screaming like a lunatic trought the prison bars, snot included. Dunno felt like he was a worthy of a more cold, menacing, evil ending.

About Batman/Punisher.
He doesnt kill overtly, i mean when he's on one on one fights, he destroy the guys but dont shoot them, stab them to death. But when he crashes a car on another car on purpose or shoots from above well yeah people are clearly killed.
There is one great nod to Miller DKR, the M60 thing, and he could really shoot to kill at point blank but choose another way that is in the end basically as effective but still he doesnt shoot to kil lol

GREAT review and very honest I feel. I'm liking what I read on "better story, writing, engaging"

I'm just saying that just because he's not dead, yet doesn't mean he won't be by the time they're finished with this universe.
